Michael drove up to the house and waited a while before he opened the door. A lot of things were going through his mind,of course he didn't expect Reina to welcome him with open arms, but at least he'd finally seen her, spoken to her. She didn't have any idea that he had been watching her everyday when she went to school, when she sat to draw, when she cried next to the tree where they had met... It had torn him apart to see her so broken. He didn't know if it was because of him or because of her parents sending her back home.

That moment had been critical in more ways than he could mention. He had needed her power to get free, but after that kiss he needed her more but not just for her power... he got out of the car only to be met by Adrian. Adrian was the man assigned to him by his father to watch him. He agreed to it though,he didn't want to bother with the politics of it all.,
" Do I have to tell you where I've been or do you already know?"
Adrian stood staring at Michael. He was slim, had dirty blonde hair and hazel but brown eyes. He could easily be mistaken for an average guy. Adrian laughed,
"I know. The question is,are you planning on telling your father?"

Michael slightly angered that he had to answer to his father,to tell him where he was going and when, threw the car keys to Adrian who caught it very easily and walked over to his house.

A month ago when he'd returned to earth he'd come back to one of the other houses he owned in the area. They lived in a gated estate. Most of it was filled with trees and a little stream at the centre of it. It was breathtaking with a towering castle- like mansion at the end of the driveway.

Jared had practically moved in,he said it was because Michael wasn't willing to move out. Jared had known why but he never approached the subject at all with him. Whether he was ignoring it or was just uncomfortable with it,Michael had no clue neither did he want to know.

Michael stepped into the house and went straight for the staircase adjacent to the door. He had only taken a few steps when Adrian appeared beside him from the study. He stopped,

"What now?"

"He wants to see you."

He hardly ever spoke to his father, maybe through messages brought by Adrian or when he was addressing some of his men and wanted to show him off as part of the great rebellion. Great rebellion ha! They'd spent years keeping an eye on Reina and had done nothing. He had men, lots of them. Trained soldiers and assassins. Michael scoffed, this was not what he had planned when he left Nazum.

The study was filled with men all dressed in black. Some of them middle aged, robust men and others older and looked to seem wiser. When Michael enetered the room, the first person he saw was Jared. He was standing at the centre of the room which he seemed to make look smaller by the power radiating from him. His greying hair was pulled back in ponytail which highlighted his jaw line making his grey eyes even more piercing. With Michael standing across from him there was no doubt that he was his son. He was a younger, stronger and more powerful version of Jared.

Michael arched an eyebrow at Jared. With a tilt of his head, the men stood up and left through the double doors with were then closed from the outside by the men guarding it.

Jared signalled at the chair, "please have a seat."

"I'd rather stand." Michael answered curtly.

Jared smiled and moved behind his desk, unbuttoning his suit jacket with one hand he sat down. He looked up at Michael,

"Your mother would have been proud to see you now"

"Yes, that's if you hadn't killed her. "

He slammed his hand on the mahogany table as he rose in anger,

"Watch your tongue! I am your father! Julian is responsible for your mothers death.! "

Michael matched his anger,

"Julian didn't start a rebellion and plunge our whole world into chaos! He didn't make my mother leave all that she knew and loved! "

Jared laughed,

"So your still hung up on that? Because we left you behind? "

The vein on Michael's temple reflected the burning anger in him,

"You left me, she didn't! "

"There are more important things to focus on! "

"Oh, like what? Please enlighten me on your evil master plan! If you have one! You've been here doing nothing for almost 17years,what's changed? "

He nodded and walked over to him. Michael straightened matching his own fathers power.

"That's what you think., "he walked around him slowly, "we've kept an eye on you for the past years. Your achievements, failures, battles. There's nothing we don't know about your life. "

"Oh, I doubt that. " he said

Jared smiled sinisterly,

"Even Kara. "

At the sound of her name, Michael's emotion shifted drastically.

"How do you know about her? "

Jared was bound to make Michael understand the power that he had over him. He was going to make him submit and use him to finally acquire the throne that was meant to be his all this time.

"We sent her to you. "

"No, your lying... "

"she always had just a little more to share on her reports about you. "

"Where is she? "

"Lucky for you, she just came back this evening while you were out frolicking with the princess. "

The vein popped on Michael's jaw as it tightened, his fists clenching in anger.

"I'm glad I never got to know you. "

"I'm not here to hold your hand son. This is a war, it's bigger than you and I! "

Michael turned and burst out of his fathers study.

He ran up the flight of stairs bursting open the doors looking for her. She stood there as if waiting for him, knowing that he was coming for her.

They stood staring at each other for what seemed like eternity. She'd betrayed him, he'd trusted her, with his life even.

He walked over to her stealthily his hand raised at her, his eyes dark with anger as he said,

"You of all people knew how I felt about my father! I trusted you, I fought for you!... I loved you... "

His last words cut her deeply as she folded her arms around her feeling the chill that was between them.

"You don't understand, it wasn't meant to happen the way it did between us.. "

"What? That you didn't know my father, that you weren't working for him all this years! Please give me one good reason why I should believe anything you say! "

Kara moved and sat on the bed, her head low. She sighed, she was tense and anxious. She'd begged Jared to let her be the one to tell him who she really is, but he'd refused her. He was still the same, hadn't changed at all.

"What are you going to do now that you know? " she didn't look up at all. She couldn't bear to see the pain that was in his face. The anger that radiated from him.

He paced running his hand through his hair and stopper for a while holding the door knob. He opened it slowly and said,
" I want you to leave! "
Then he was gone.
