It was about two years ago when my life went downhill. It was all because of a simple game. This game was a very low quality one, most likely in early development that suddenly stopped. I had a few friends on the game. One of which, was a girl. We talked quite often, and sometimes we would flirt with each other.
Eventually, we both had gotten quite attached. We would text everyday, but she was never reluctant to show me her face. Stella, as she had called herself, would only describe herself. Blue eyes, dark brown hair, thin. But one thing that always made me worry was the fact that when she had to go, she didn't have time to say goodbye. Yes, I have heard her voice, and it always sounded rushed and.. on edge. Stella hasn't played the game in sometime, mainly because she was always busy. One day, she had actually asked me to Skype her. I was excited to finally talk to her, and see her face. But when Stella had called me, she was crying.
Her features were absolutely beautiful, nonetheless. She hadn't lied about her hair, her body shape, or her eyes. She was everything that I've ever wanted in a girl. What made me worry, however, was why she was crying. What had happened that made her this much of a mess? "Stella, are you alright?" I asked softly. "What happened? Do.. Do you need anything?" I questioned her. This only made her sobs worsen, to my dismay.

"N-nothing is alright anymore.." She whispered through her hiccups and sobs.

"Do you need me to come over? I only live an hour away from your city.." I asked.

"You will? Plea-se come over.. I need yo-"

"Stella?" The skype call had suddenly ended. I tried calling back, but it said she was offline and it didn't go through. I didn't even know which house she lived in. Hell, I didn't even know her last name. But something odd happened. I had gotten a Skype call from an anonymous user. I ignored the call and clenched my jaw. This was strange.
Frustration began eating away at me, and soon enough I decided to call the anonymous user. They had answered, but all I had seen was black. "Hello?" I called. Nobody answered back but the lights had turned on. What I saw terrified me. Stella was there, hanging from a noose tied to a hook on the ceiling. "S-Stella?" I asked shakily. "Stella..!" I called. She didn't move. All I saw was her lifeless body hanging from that damn ceiling. I was too shocked to do anything. What the hell happened while she went away?
I began to hear a raspy laugh from the computer. No, behind me. I quickly whipped around only to see nothing. I thought about calling the police, but my phone seemed to be shattered and crushed beyond repair. "What the actual fuck!" I yelled. That's when laughter erupted throughout the room.
I carefully looked at the computer and there was a person.. No, thing, it was standing beside Stella's corpse. Too terrified to say anything, I quickly went for the end call button, but it wouldn't work. "I have to be dreaming. I have to be dreaming..! I have to be dreaming!" I yelled, beginning to become louder each time. A burning sensation went throughout my neck and I felt as if I was being choked. My hands flew to me neck, only to feel gloved hands. I clawed at the hands, but they never let go. They only held my neck tighter with each scratch.
"Let me go, you bastard!" I screamed. Everything began to fade to black. The anonymous person let go of my neck and I gasped for air. It wasn't long after that I felt the chill of a blade against my neck. I quit breathing and clamped my eyes shut. One move and I could slit my own throat. But they did it for me.
