Chapter 12: Forgiven

(Toby's Pov)

Guilt gnawed at my innards... This was all my fault... Me and Hoods were friends and I ruined his relationship... God... I had to make this right. I went to Masky's room, evading the Creepypastas that were outside in the halls.

When I got there I knocked on the door hearing the clank of the door against my fist.

"Masky? You in there? I need to talk to you!"

"I don't need to talk to you!" His voice snapped, yet his voice sounded weak, and filled with grief...

"Masky! I REALLY need to talk to you!" I called. The door opened, he was wearing his mask, but he probably hadn't been earlier.

"What?" He asked with a growl.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to come between you and Hoodie." I said desperately.

"Suuuure," he said sarcastically, crossing his arms over his chest.

"No! Really! I just... I just wanted to have a friend for once... I've never had one before." I murmured.

"Ya right! You just wanted to keep us apart so you could have him for yourself!" Masky cried angrily

"A-all for myself? It's not like that!" I cried. "I just want to be his friend..." Masky snorted and looked away telling me he didn't believe me.

"Masky!" I grabbed his arm. "I'm not lying! You don't know what my life was like... I had no friends. Even my parents didn't care! The only one who cared was my sister... And she died right in front of me!" I was rambling now and couldn't stop myself. "I just wanted someone to be friends with! Someone who didn't care that I was so weird!" That shut him up.

"S-sorry..." He murmured. "S-so you don't have a crush on Brian?" He asked softly.

"Crush? No. Not at all. I'm straight. At least I think I am. I'm not actually positive since I've never had a crush."

"O-oh..." He muttered, I could tell he was embarrassed due to the tone in his voice.

"So... We cool?" I asked. He nodded.

"W-wheres Hoodie?" He then asked.

"In our room. On his bed." I said. "We should probably get to bed before-"

"TOBY! MASKY!" Slender's angry voice shouted.

"And... We're dead..." I groaned. We headed downstairs to Slender's office, I was extremely nervous. What was going to happen to us.... Masky knocked on the door.

"You wanted to speak to us?" He asked. Slender glared at us.

"Why. Aren't. You. Two. In. Bed?" He hissed angrily.

"Sorry master," We murmured in unison, hoping that was enough to get him off our cases.

"You were specifically told NEVER to leave your rooms after curfew. You could have been killed!" He stood, looming over us. "You disobeyed my orders." He hissed.

"W-we're sorry," Masky repeated "w-we didn't realize what time it was..." He murmured, I watched him dip his head and shrink back in submission, that was probably a good idea, so I did the same. Slender was silent for a moment, glaring at us.

"No dinner for a week." He said finally.

"Yes master..." We said in unison, we waited to be dismissed.

"Bed. Now." Slender hissed. "And don't let me catch you disobeying an order again. Or the punishment will be far worse." Both me and Masky nodded before fleeing to our rooms.

"I'll apologize to Brian tomorrow," he muttered.

"Kay." I whispered. "Night Masky." I murmured and went to my room.

"Night," He replied quickly before closing the door to his room. I meanwhile walked into mine and Brian's room, he had seemed to cry himself to sleep. I sighed softly, plopping down on my bed, yawning widely. I removed my mask and curled up under the covers... Then I drifted off to sleep.
