Author's Note: So I have decided that since you had to deal with a bunch of time between updates and such a pointless plot of the last one (except character development,) I would give you this chapter around the same time as the other one. Like a week after is around the same time, right? Heh...okay on with the story...
Chapter 13: The Plan (Part 1, Creating)
Isio watched from his castle window the two people hand in hand, looking all around the square of the kingdom.
Her eyes were sparkling with excitement to see all of the sights, her mouth open and talking about all there was to see. She turned to the man next to her, seemingly asking something. He smiled and told her something back. They both laughed.
The man would only look at her, content and happiness in his mismatched eyes. It made Isio sick to watch such a sight. He turned his back away, unwilling to watch anymore. He clapped his hands twice, and an elf in dark blue robes appeared, giving a slight bow of the head.
"Yes, my prince?" The elf asked.
"Bring the girl now," he responded coldly. "I want her here in two minutes exactly."
The elf looked slightly surprised, but bowed again and simply left without a word.
Isio walked over to a chair and slumped in it. He could not let his father have what he wanted. He just couldn't take him being happy. Not when he himself had been suffering for so long.
It was all his father's fault. If he just hadn't-
His thoughts were paused when he heard the knob on the door turn.
The door opened slowly as Alaria stepped in. She seemed still unsure of her decision, but it was too late now. She was stuck in this until the end. She bowed the least she could before looking up at the prince before her.
"What do you want?" She asked quietly.
Isio smirked. "Is that any way to address a king?"
"You aren't king."
"Not yet, but soon."
"Only if this works."
"It will."
"How are you so sure?"
Isio waltzed his way around the girl in front of him. He stopped behind her, putting his hands on her shoulders. He felt her jump and tense at the contact. He grinned. She's trying not to squirm.
"Well, my dear," he began, "I have been creating this extensive plan for over two years, but I had no one to help me activate it. Now, I have two helpers."
Alaria turned her head to try and face him. "What do you mean two?"
Isio was grinning more and more. "Well, there's you of course, and my father's precious little champion."
Alaria stayed silent, thoughts running through her head. Why would he need the champion for this?
"And what does she have to do with anything?" She asked with false bravery.
Isio walked back in front of Alaria, turning his back to her and pacing the floor.
"Oh Sarah is the most important piece. She is young, naive and easily fooled. If we can get her to join us, even unknowingly, then she will be the final knife in the king's chest. The final nail in his coffin."
Alaria tried to ignore the way he said this, as if he forgot her side of the deal.
"But she doesn't trust us.""She doesn't trust me. She doesn't even know you."
He turned so he was facing her and his hands were back on her shoulders.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Befriend her. Beg her. Kidnap her, I don't care what you do. Just get her here, on our side, chained up or not."
He pushed her towards the door.
"W-wait, right now?"
"Yes right now."
"But I can't-"
"You can, and you will. I don't care if it takes weeks. Just get her here and don't come back unless you're with her."
Alaria gave one more protest before the door was shut in her face. She sighed. Looks like she was stuck with only one option. She had to find the champion.
May the Gods help her.
