David did not leave Snow's side as her condition did not change; neither for the good nor the bad. As the hours turned into days, his phone rang off with texts and calls as his fiance, Katherine, tried desperately to reach him. Yet, he would not leave Snow's side. At one instance, Emma saw how they were both unconscious and his hand was holding tight onto hers. Almost as if he was trying to heal her by touch. A scene directly from a story book, she took a deep breath before realizing how much she wanted that; someone to fight for her and protect her, to not leave her.

Suddenly, David awoke to the sound of a sweet voice.

"Why are you here?"

He jumped from his chair before squeezing her and apologizing immediately after due to her injuries.

"I wanted to make sure you were alright. I heard about your accident-"

"That's right...I remember.." She paused. "Katherine must be worried sick about you...If you've been here..."

"My priority is you."

A throat was cleared behind him as he turned to find his fiance shaking her head and tapping her foot at him. When their eyes made contact, she moved from the room before David chased after her.

"You know, I could handle it when I found out you were writing to her from Afghanistan,  I could deal with it when you had pictures of you two together on your phone and on print; but to say that she's a priority over me...No, that's it. Decide right now; her or me."

"Her."

Katherine's face moved long. "Do you know what you're throwing away?"

"Yeah. And I'm not throwing anything away." He went to move closer before she threw her hands up. "You and I lost love for one another-well, I can't really say that's what it was. We were both convenient for one another. For you, it was someone you could complain to...for me, it was having someone to come home to...but this-"

"Whatever."

He nodded before moving back to the room and finding the doctor's surrounding Snow. Seven of them, each displaying something from sneezing to grumpiness. He took humor in the irony before they let her be and he sat back by her.

"I feel like I always make things worse for the two of you..."

"There should have never been a her and I..."

"Do you mean....You aren't with her anymore?"

He shook his head.

Although her body felt dreadful and her head was somewhat hazy and throbbing, her soul jumped as if she was well and happy. But physical, a smile crept onto her face, and a smirk moved to his.
