"WAAAAAAAHHHT??!!" Naruto and I exclaimed together.

"No way! But... I don't look anything like him!!" I yelled, and Tsunade growled, then thrust a mirror in front of our faces.

"Look at your eyes. And the evidence all points toward this conclusion!"

I looked, and sure enough, my eyes were the exact same shade of cerulean blue as Naruto's. And there was something in the shape of our faces, too...

But still. It was impossible!

"No! I don't believe it! Itachi said that I had no family!" I yelled. This... this was just completely unplausible!

"A DNA test... if that will make you believe us, Kaien, then fine..." Tsunade said.

We both took the test and it came back positive. Naruto and I placed our hands together, just staring. His were slightly bigger than mine, and his skin was slightly darker, but we had the same slender fingers.

"I had... family... all this time..." Naruto murmured, and I hugged my brother. I had a brother... it was all so surreal. His arms hesitantly wrapped around me.

"I'm not alone..." he murmured again, smiling.

A few months later. General POV

"Naruto! Naruto!" Sakura cried, running as fast as she could to where her blonde friend was standing.

"What? Sakura, what is it?!" the blonde asked her worriedly.

"Its... Sasuke... he's gone after... that guy Gaara..." she panted. "He heard the reports that the sand ninja were returning, and remembered how he never finished his fight with the guy so he took it upon himself to stop him! Kakashi said to take this dog, Pakkun and stop him."

Naruto nodded, and they followed the little dog into the forest.

Kaien's POV

"Hey, Shikamaru, have you seen Naruto?" I asked the lazy ninja, and he sighed and sat up.

"Troublesome woman, I was taking a nap... he and Sakura went after Sasuke who was going after that sand guy, Gaara." and then he laid back down again.

"'kay, thanks Shikamaru!" I called behind me, already running. I scrutinised every small detail of the area like a good shinobi, then gave up on trying to follow through tracking and focused on sensing their heartbeats.

Once I had found them, I caught up to them relatively quickly. I could feel some other, unfamiliar pulses also... and one gave off a feeling that slightly disturbed me.

"How far?" I asked, and the dog answered.

"We'll be there in a few minutes. They have stopped." I nodded somberly.

After a few minutes of running, like Pakkun said, we arrived, and Sasuke was slumped against a tree. [I can't remember how it goes, so I'm just gonna make it up] Gaara was standing on a branch not far away, but he was all... mutated. I grimaced, slightly freaked out, but hey, I had seen worse, being with the Akatsuki and all. Especially from Kakuzu and Hidan. I mean, come on! Kakuzu has five hearts, and basically gives birth to four gross noodle monsters when he's fighting, and Hidan stabs himself for fun. And that's on a good day.

Some would say I was exposed to too much indecency in my childhood.

Sakura screamed in anger and launched a kunai at Gaara when he came for Sasuke again, only to be secured to a tree by a load of sand. She blacked out.

"Who is this guy?!" I asked, feeling, for the first time in my life, afraid. This time, I didn't have Itachi or Kisame there to protect me... I was alone.
