CHAPTER 1

"KENNEDY!!!!!"

I heard Hans' voice, shouting my name outside the shop.

Tingnan mo nga naman 'tong mokong na to. Daig pa ang babae sa lakas ng boses

"What's with that energy, Hansel?"

Tanong ko sa kanya nang maka pasok na siya sa loob ng shop.

"Don't call me by that name. Ken."

Iritado niyang sabi.

He doesn't want to call him 'Hansel'. Mas preffer daw niya ang Hans. Masyado na daw kasi siyang yummy para tawagin pa siya sa pangalan niya na tunog pagkain. His words, not mine.

Umorder siya ng inumin at umupo sa tapat ng counter.

"Then do the same thing as well, Hans."

Sabi ko habang kinukuha ang order ng isang costumer.

He let out a small laugh from his mouth and take a sip on his drink.

"Ano ba pinunta mo dito?"

I asked, as I gave the tray full of drinks to the waiter.

"Kailangan ba may dahilan ang pag punta ko dito? Di ba pwedeng miss lang kita?"

He said giving me a seducing look that was so irritating.

Sinapok ko siya, pero tinawanan lang niya ko. Baliw baliw din eh.

"Shut up bro. Di tayo talo! Masyado akong gwapo para sayo."

I said, full of authority. Tingnan mo nga naman. Nahawa na ko sa kahanginan ng mokong na to!

He end up laughing his ass off. Nah.. can I ask? Bat ko ba naging best friend 'tong mokong na to?

"Okay, real talk na tayo. Di naman ako mag eeffort gumising ng umaga kung hindi importante diba?"

He said with his serious tone.

Babarahin ko sana, pero wag na.

"C'mon, spill it off!"

Tumabi ako sa kanya at hinihintay ang sasabihin niya.

"I found her.."

And by that, my eyes gazed at him.

"H-how could you find her? Two years na natin siyang hinanap through research, but there's no article about her."

I asked.

"I have my connections, bro."

He answered.

"So, what's about her?"

Me, still trying to suck the information to my mind.

"The whole 2 years, we thought she's a free lance hunter, but that conclusion was so damn wrong."

He continued.

"Ken, she's part of the Knight Hunters Association."

He said without giving me a look.

My eyes widend at surprise.

If she's a member of Knight Hunters, then she should kill me that night..

Hindi dahil sa alam niyang ghoul ako. Ghouls are not a surprise in this scociety. Humans and us had a condition with each other. Both of us have rules. At part ng rule na yun ang pag babawal saming mga ghouls na kumain ng tao, except kung ito'y patay na.

We used to live feeding ourselves with animal flesh instead of human simula nung nagawa ang kasunduan sa pagitan naming mga ghouls at ng mga humans.

At ang consequence ng pag break ng rule na yun, ay kamatayan.

Hunters have rights to kill ghouls who kills and eats a human. But only the hunters who's part of the KH. Yun ang dahilan kung bakit naisip namin na isa siyang free lance hunter. They only have a liscence that allowing them to hunt dream shades, not ghouls. But its a surprise na hindi niya ko pinatay. Bakit?

"Hey, dude!"

Hans tapped my shoulder that makes me jump out from my thoughts.

"Ano? Nag tho-throw back ka, kaya ka natulala?"

Sinapok ko siya ule, but this time di na siya tumawa.

"Aww. Kala mo ba di na huhurt ang feelings ko? Bro, di ako dense!"

Pag dadrama niya.

"Di nga kasi tayo talo! Ano ba! Saka may pasok ka kaya? Ano walang balak?"

"Hala! Oo nga! Sige bro, una nako bye!"

Ayun, sumibat na ang mokong.

Sandali akong natawa at natulala.
