Mia brought her knee up, however not high enough to hit him in the junk, only enough to grab his attention to make it look like she was flailing. When his eyes met her's, Mia's widen eyes narrowed dangerously and her lips parted, showing pearly white teeth, her canines, as Maddison's were already, abnormally pointed, allowing this sweet and innocent girl a slight touch of insanity. While the Purple Dragon squinted in the dimly lit ally way, Mia slammed her head forward, making the man step back and his hands shoot up to prevent any more blood from gushing out his nose. The teen pushed off the wall and spun, extending her leg with elegance, nailing him in his bulging gut, he doubled over in pain and brought his head up. Only as his eyes had begun widening, he knew he had made a mistake, Mia swung her dominant leg up, whamming him the in jaw, dislocating it.
Mia backed up slightly, and again pushed off the wall, but this time she jumped, and somersaulted through the air, smashing both her feet down with extra force, both feet hit their intended target, his face, effectively either knocking him out or killing him, Mia didn't care to find out which.
The man shaking down Maddison's mother turned upon hearing his comrade drop to the ground and witnessed the whole ordeal, his eyes narrowed and his face twisted into an ugly scowl.
Mia's smile only grew, she motioned him forward with her middle and index finger and he let out and roar of anger. As he ran towards her, he whipped out a switch blade, though it was small Mia knew to be cautious, that didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun on the way.
The teen ducked low and swept his feet out from under him and as he fell, Mia darted up and held her stance, her left foot up and her arms to her sides, curled into fists. His knife hand stayed up facing her just as she'd predicted, her leg out stretched to the side and she skimmed the butt of the knife, only lightly and it was enough, the knife came free. Mia slammed her left foot back, turning it the the side to gain a better grip and swung her right leg up again, batting the knife away, blade first, it lodged itself into the brick wall, to high for either to reach.
His brown eyes met her own artic ones, and in those eyes, he was nothing even remotely related to mercy, only stone cold furry.
Mia glanced back lazily, her eyes scanning the pieces of junk, a plank of wood stood out to the girl, she glimpsed the sad excuse for a Purple Dragon hurry to scramble up. A pale skinny arm shot out, and caught the man's somewhat bulker and tanner arm, she swung him forward, blowing dust and gunk everywhere as he landed, more accurately crashed into the pile of crates and junk.
He groaned, Mia slammed her boot heel down on the plank, it launched into the air and the black haired teen snatched it out of the air. She looked it over as if it had some importance to her, Mia pouted and her eyes twinkled with mischief, slowly, Mia bent down, her left arm keeping her balanced by pushing up on her knee.
Her face was only inches from the Purple Dragon scum, he blinked lazily at her, already knowing he'd lost the fight, he dropped his head in defeat, his neck in to much pain to face his enemy.
Mia snickered and straighten quickly, bringing both hands to support the plank, she whacked it across his face, hitting his chin first, Mia head a satisfying crack.
A smile bloomed on Mia's face as she glazed down at the two beaten and bruised men, a sense of pride invading her senses.
"Madds??" Mia spun around, she had completely forgotten her mother had been there, did she know?? How would she tell her??
"You're not Maddison are you??" Mia shook her head, Evelyn looked at this new woman with curiosity, step by step coming closer and closer.
Mia stared at her like a cornered animal, at any given moment she was ready to flee, but her resolve was strong, she huffed and squared her shoulders, a gentle smile playing on her lips. Mia held out her hand, as if introducing herself for the very first time, even though, Mia knew everything about her mother, from Maddison's memories, and just as Mia knew their mother, so did Mae.
"Mia, my names Mia." Evelyn glared at Mia's hand as if had burnt her, she smacked her hand away and tugged Mia into a warm and much needed embrace.
Mia breathed in her mother's scent, and for the first time ever, Mia felt at peace, the fire that burnt at her core wavered, threatening to expire. The smell of jasmine tea and honey made Mia smile, recalling all the times Maddison had sat with their mother watching silly Sunday morning cartoons where they would drink tea and watch Queen and Max play rather than actually watch the tv.
"M-Mia!!" Evelyn pulled Mia toward her more, but that did little to stop the sudden burning sensation that shot up Mia's side.
A man stood behind Mia, his right hand out stretched, clasped in this hand was a handle, a handle of a knife the blade was only just visible under the loose piece of fabric that was once Maddsion's favourite shirt.
The three stood frozen in time, tears had began to bubble over Evelyn's eyes, Mia's expression, eyes filled with delight, now held fear and shock and the man, his face was consorted in horror, his blue eyes wide and his mouth hanging open.
Mia fell, Evelyn attempted to catch her, but the weight of Mia's body proved to much for the woman, they both fell, Mia head fell into her mother's lap, Evelyn gazed down at her daughter, her daughter's head in her hands and her hair hanging down shielding them from the sorry excuse for a Purple Dragon.
Evelyn cringed upon hearing another body drop to the ground, only this one wasn't caught and fell to the ground like a bag of bricks, the sound of footsteps walking on the cement sounded, alerting Evelyn of another presence near. Her grip tightened, she shifted so she held herself over her daughter protectively, three pairs of feet entered her limited field of vision under her fringe.
The feet she saw were various shades of green, one pair was leaf green, another was lizard green and the closest pair were olive, but that wasn't the strangest thing, oh no, they only had three toes, three massive toes. But despite seeing this, Evelyn stayed put, refusing to let go of her baby girl, they'd have to kill her.
"Excuse me miss, could I have a look at her??" The voice was soft and a comfort that Eve needed much of at the moment, and the voice sounded calm, like he had done this a million times.
The blonde woman looked up, desperation clear as day in her artic blue eyes, what she was unusual yes, but she couldn't bring herself to care about the 6 foot 8 turtle carrying around ninja gear, or the fact that she had been wrong and that there was in fact four of them.
"Please help her." The purple masked turtle nodded and dropped to his knees, gently flipped Mia over so he could evaluate the damage.
A three fingered hand lightly wrapped around Evelyn's thin arm in an attempt to pull her away from all the blood there was bound to be, but she shifted her shoulder forward and crossed her arms across her chest, determined to see the damage along with the masked turtle.
"Maddison, Maddsion can you hear me...Blink if you can hear me.." Donnie's eyes widened when the girl did not respond, he had assessed the injury and she had lost a lot of blood already.
And he couldn't be 100% sure that the stab wound was a spinal injury so there was no way he was taking the chance of rolling her over. He paused, bringing his head down to her chest on the side so he could hear if she was still breathing, she was but it was short and quick, they needed to get her back to the lair stat.
Donnie got up from his kneeling position and into a crouching one so he could lift her up safely, once he had her bridal style he nodded to the eldest of the brother's, confirming that she still needed help.
"We need to get her back to the lair, she bleeding out fast guys." Leonardo nodded from his place behind Evelyn.
Once again he reached for the distressed woman to assure her, instead of pulling away again, she turned to face the brother, she was thankful for their help and understood why they thought it best to take them back with them instead of a hospital, since the nearest one was about half an hour away with all the traffic.
"Me and Mikey will stay behind with her, you and Raph go on ahead." Donnie and Raphael nodded, and prepared to take off, but Donnie froze and looked down at the scary pale girl in his arms.
She gazed up at him weakly, she had heard it all, but felt to weak to open her eyes, but the thought of Max begin hurt snapped Maddison out of her pathetic state.
"W...wait. Max, I-I w...want...Max.." Maddison raised her arm, shaking and shivering, the atmosphere had suddenly gotten 10 degrees colder, but she didn't stop, she managed to gesture in the direction she had last seen her beloved friend.
With wide brown eyes, Donnie scanned the entrance of the ally with calculating eyes, wondering who she would be referring to when she was half dead.
"Look Princess!! We ain't got time to get yer dumb boyfriend!!" The hotheaded brother growled, stepping closer to Donnie and the girl, glaring down at her, she half heartedly attempted to return his glare but her eyes had already begun to close.
At last Donnie's keen eyes landed on a bundle of black fur, his eyes widened, she wasn't referring to her boyfriend, but the dog!!
The purple masked turtle stepped forward to meet his hotheaded brother, who's eyes narrowed in confusion at his brother's sudden closeness. Donnie outstretched his arms and practically dumped the girl into Raphael unsuspecting arms, though he still caught her, he turned around to follow his nerdy brother and give him back the annoyance curled up in his muscular arms.
He next saw Donnie cradling something in his arms, a black ball of fur and at that moment he knew, the girl hadn't been referring to he boyfriend, but her pet, much like he would have done had he been in her situation.
With that new found information, the two took off at full speed, a new determination burned in Raphael to help the girl, the girl who put her animal's life before her own, he had a new found respect for the girl, and he wasn't about to let her die, not like this.
