     Chapter One

When I woke up I realized that there was a set of boxes in my room.  This meant only one thing, my family and I were moving, again.  Sighing, I swung my feet to the cold floor and got up.  I picked my phone up and saw the time was only 10:13 A.M.  Being 17 this was very early for me to even think about getting up.  I wiped away the crust in my eyes and walked to the bathroom to do my morning business.  After I was done I padded back into my room and groaned. I really hated packing, but I decided to just go ahead and get it over with.

After two hours of non-stop packing I was finally finished.  I was sweaty, tired, hungry, and thirsty as hell.  As I looked around at my bare room, I sighed.  I actually liked this place and I was finally getting settled in.  But due to my mother's job, which keep in mind she only had to support me and my little sister, we moved around a lot.  Now that I was finished with highschool though I could find a job and my own place and hopefully stay in the same place for a while.

I trudged over to my bed and bent down onto the floor.  I pulled out a silver box, looked around and listened for footsteps.  After hearing nothing I sat down on my bed.  Opening the box I revealed my stash of weed and pills.  Pulling out my grinder I put a good sized bud into it and when it was grinded up perfectly, I slit open a cigar and threw away the tobacco.  I licked the cigar and folded it, next putting the weed into it.  After I was done rolling my blunt I opened the window and sat down beside it.  I lit the blunt and inhaled.  Weed solved my problems, defiantly my mom's nagging that I was surely going to hear when we got down stairs.  After the blunt was smoked I put the roach into the box and packed it into the brown box that was open.

I walked into my bathroom and took my shower to wash away all the sweat from packing.  After my shower I dried my bleach blond hair and did my makeup.  Soon I was dressed in my black ripped skinny jeans; black Metallica band t-shirt; my Osiris's; with my hair pulled back into a high ponytail.  People usually said I was the devil child, or emo, but in my defense if you lived through what I lived through you'd be dark, too.  I walked out of my room and down the stairs.  When I arrived in the kitchen I saw my mom hadn't thrown away the fruit, yet.  Grabbing an apple, I opened the fridge to see if I could find something to quench my thirst.  I grabbed a bottle of water and sat down to enjoy my snack.

Shortly after I was done eating my mom walked into the kitchen dressed in overalls.

"Hey Sasphire.  Do you have everything packed and ready for the move?" my mom asked, while I just nodded in response.

"That is great dear.  I'll tell the movers that they can go ahead and get your's and Candy's things loaded up then we'll be on our way!" she said, cheerfully as hell.

As my mom exited the kitchen to go talk to the movers my little sister, Candy, skipped into the kitchen.

"Are you exited about the move, Sas?" Candy asked.  I just nodded again as my response.  She smiled and said, "That's good.  I hope this new place has a lot of children my age.  I'd love to actually make some friends for once."

"I know Candy.  Me and you both."  I retorted.  She nodded silently.  I wish I was her age again, she didn't have any care in the world and that was something I wanted more than anything.  My mom walked back into the kitchen announcing it was time to leave.  I sighed, grabbed my car keys and phone and walked outside.  My mom and Candy hopped into her SUV while I hopped into my '77 sleek, black, Camaro.  I watched as my mom took off, the moving truck right behind her following her every move.  I sighed, looked back at the place, and took off to my new life.
