Chapter 5: The Kiss [X]

~Hailey's POV~

"Does that feel better?' Sam questioned.

"No. No, it doesn't." I spoke softly before turning to my mom. "I knew it," I whispered.

"Wait for what?" Sam asked confused as he looked between my mom and me.

"Tell me, Mom. Did you know...? That...." I started hoping she would catch on.

"Yes, I did. Alright, I did... And Hailey I'm sorry. I am".

"This is bullshit" I cussed before I walked out of the house and into the street. I immediately heard footsteps behind me, I knew it was Sam.

"What was that back there?"

"She knew alright!"

"Knew what?" He asked me, as he sat next to me on the curb.

"She knew Jc lived here. She knew it's like she planned to move here... She knew Robert before they actually started dating". I sighed as I leaned my head on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry, but Kian, Trevor and I are only here to visit. We have our families back in Cali" He sighed.

"I wish I was back in Cali" I sighed.

"Yeah, you should come visit" Sam smiled.

"I would love that. I had to leave behind 2 of my closest friends" I sighed.

"Really? What were their names?"

"Nathan and Kaylie. I miss them so much" I sighed.

"Go Skype them" Sam offered.

"Come with me?" I asked.

"Why not" He smiled, as I pulled my into the house avoiding the stares of all the boys and my mom and Robert.

"Hailey, I" My mother started.

"Don't!" I called from upstairs.

I heard footsteps running up the stairs, the rest of the boys burst into the room.

"Hailey, what is going on?" Connor demanded.

"Nothing. Nothing at all" I said, emotionlessly.

"Honey, what's wrong?" My mother asked, while seated at dinner.

"It's one of my friends...I miss everyone" I piped up.

"You have friends?" Connor teased.

"Yes I do, thank you Connor" I hissed before I walked upstairs.

"Aw, man that wasn't cool" Sam sighed before he walked upstairs and to Hailey's door.

Sam gently knocked on her door. "Hailey, I'm sure Connor didn't mean it"

Silence, nothing but silence passed for the next 2 minutes. Sam opened her door to find Hailey not there but the window was open.

"Shit!" Sam cursed as he ran down the stairs. "I hope you happy Connor" Sam hissed.

"What are you talking about?" Connor asked as he stood up.

"Hailey's gone. I went to check on her in her room, she wasn't there but her window was open. She's gone"

"Damnit, I didn't think she would take it so hard. It was a joke" Connor sighed.

"So Hailey's gone?" Diana asked from the doorway.

"Oh god Diana, I'm sorry-" Connor started

"It's okay. She does this all the time".

"What do you mean?" Trevor asked.
