You were ready.

Your body surging head to toe in determination. You walked into the door and was met by a room of flowers, the room was illuminated by a few rays of light. You could hear birds tweeting from somewhere. In the middle of the room was a creature...but he didn't look like the evil creature you saw in the mirror. He had a purple cape that draped his back and had huge horns. He had long blond hair that flowed is shoulders. He didn't notice you at first, he was simply watering his flowers and humming to himself. You stepped closer and his ears perked up.

'Oh. Is someone there? Just a moment! I have almost finished watering these flowers.' He quickly finished up before exclaiming. '...Here we are!' He turned to you and finally got to see his face. He was nothing like you imagined him to be. He had a kind face with a wide smile, his eyes big and full of curiosity. 'Howdy! How can I...' He stumbled back when he saw your face, he seemed to realise who you were. 'Oh.' He quietly said, looking to the side of the room. He turned to face you but for a moment, he couldn't seem to find any words to say. He finally found them. 'I so badly want to say, "would you like a cup of tea?".' He chuckled slightly, but his smile faltered. 'But...you know how it is.' He calmly walked to the side of the room. You were puzzled about everything. He spoke again. 'Nice day today, huh? Birds are singing, flowers are blooming...perfect weather for a game of catch.' He stared out the window and admired the outside once again. He looked at you with a small frown and he sighed deeply. 'You know what we must do. When you are ready, come into the next room.' He walked up the room and disappeared into the next room.

'I am ready.' You quietly said to yourself as you made your way to the next room.

You entered the room, calm and ready. You saw Asgore there, waiting for you patiently.

'How tense...' He said, smiling at you. 'Just think of it like...a visit to the dentist.' He seemed to be trying to make you feel better about the situation. Even though this monster struck fear in you, you silently thanked him. He kept walking further into the room, you followed close by. He stopped at the next door and said to you. 'Are you ready? If you are not, I understand.' He winked at you. 'I am not ready either.' He entered the room and was engulfed by the darkness within. You reminded yourself why you doing this and who you doing this for. For Sans. You are doing this...for Sans. You entered the room without another thought.

The room was strange, it was blank white...but it also wasn't. It looked like a hall the went on for eternity. Asgore stood in front of you, staring into space for a bit. 'This is the barrier.' He suddenly said, which made you jump. He continued. 'This is what keeps us all underground.' He paused, trying to choose his words. 'If...If by any chance you have any unfinished business, please do what you must.'

'I don't' you quietly said. He sighed deeply. '...I see...this is it then.' He turned and faced you. 'Ready?' Suddenly, capsules containing different coloured souls appeared from the ground. One of them was empty, you assumed it was yours. You were suddenly flung into battle. A strange light soon filled the room, twilight was shining through the barrier. It seemed your journey was finally over. You are filled with DETERMINATION. 'Human...' Asgore quietly said. 'It was nice to meet you.' His face fell into dismay. 'Goodbye.' He put his head down, a red spear was quick pulled out from Asgore, it's sharpness intimidated you. He stood tall, like a warrior.

'Asgore, I don't want to fight.' You quietly said to him. His hands trembled for a moment. He soon shot flames at you, you quickly dodged his attacks. 'Asgore, I don't want to fight.' You tell Asgore, his breathing gets funny for a moment. He keeps attacking you with fire, you accidentally slip and one of the flames burns you, you cried out in pain. 'Asgore, stop fighting.' You firmly tell Asgore, recollection flashed in his eyes. He swung his spear at you, it gashes your arm. You stagger up, trying to ignore the blood. 'ASGORE PLEASE!' You call out to him, but it doesn't have an effect on him.

The fight felt like it would go on forever, he kept swinging, you kept trying to dodge. Ever so often, his attack would hit you. By now, your head had a cut on your forehead, both your arms were bloody and burnt and your legs had plenty of burn marks, you could barely move after a while.

You felt as if your life was fading.

'Sans...' You quietly called out. 'I'm....sorry....' Tears flooded down your face. 'I failed Sans. I failed.' You attempted to dodge another attack, but you couldn't. You were too slow and ended up getting a burn on your cheek. You flopped to the floor, unable to move. Asgore slowly approached. 'Sans...' You cried, the tears streamed endlessly. 'I....love you. I'm....so sorry.' Asgore lifted his spear high in the air, ready for his final blow. You prepared for impact.

...

Nothing happened. But you did hear a blast and a cry from Asgore. You couldn't see, your vision was too blurry. You saw a figure approach you and hold out a hand, you slowly went to reach for it, it felt familiar. You were dazed and you stumbled. You couldn't stand, your feet gave away. The figure caught you and held you close. The last thing you could remember before blacking out, was seeing an everlasting smile.
