Away From Home

It was just an ordinary morning when my mother made the air smell like Sedalia's the sweet treat that everyone loves. But my mom makes them fresh and delectable.

"Hey honey want some breakfast it's in the kitchen" she said with a warm smile and looked a little tired just coming from bed not to long ago.

I walk to the kitchen and hug my mom and said "good morning". She smiled and said "you are getting a lot bigger missy I have never seen a 12 year old girl 5"0 before". I looked up at her with my green tired eyes. She continued, "soon you can be a worker and do what your heart aligns you to do".

Yes mama I will make you proud. I grabbed my breakfast and walked outside into the already warm desert sand from the rising Jakku sun.

I climbed on top of the house to watch it rise higher in the sky watching the deep reds turn to a purple, then a light pink as I do every morning. It was just so beautiful like something out of a story but here it was right I front of me.

I suddenly see a small black dot in the distance as if coming out of the sun. Then a minute later there were two more and they looked as if they were moving or getting closer?

I ran inside and yelled mom something's wrong!...

She burst out the door holding me at her side with a death grip. I pointed to the sun and heard a big whoosh above my head as we both hit the floor in shock.

Shit! She whispered out loud. "It's the First Order" is all that I could hear before another ship flew by and another there had to be at least 6 of them before we both peeked our heads out of the entrance way.

They stopped and landed loudly in the center of our little village. My mom rushed me inside and whispered "Morgan I love you so much now listen every carefully Hun"... I stared into her eyes and nodded with tears brimming my eyes.

"I love you with all my heart now if they come here you don't fight you run and hide. I'll take them on as much as I can but when you get a chance run!" She said shaking me to confirm her directions. "Now stay in your room lock the door and hide".

I flew into my room and slipped into a create I used to have my two jackets and robes in. I put on one of the jackets which was very large on me at the time hopeing the stormtroopers will just think I'm clothing and move on.

I heard my mom screaming and gun fire from every which direction. She started pleading don't kill me about three times until I heard one last shot.

I squealed and then quickly covered my mouth when I felt the warm droplets of tears drip onto my knees. Hoping they didn't hear me I try to calm my breathing by closing my eyes.

I heard some foots steps come towards my room and the door bust open. My eyes go wide in nervousness. I heard a trooper say "check in here this little girl could be anywhere in a small place".

I started to cry more still holding my mouth closed. A trooper opened the box and I screamed as they picked me up and out of the box. They ran me to there leader and asked "is this her?" He nodded in agreement.

He was just about to take off when the door exploded inwards sending me flying outta the Troopers arms. And onto the hard ground, I looked at the people and seen two lights light up one green and one blue I knew then that I was safe...
