Dean looked impassively at the ceiling. All students had been made to go back to their dorms until further notice. Dean couldn't get the image of Zoey's expressionless face out of his head. Her scruffy hair chaotically placed over her static features, clumped together with blood in some places. Her glassy eyes staring at nothing. Her cold, callous, unmoving body, void of all life and expression flooded Dean's thoughts.

Dean sat up and rubbed his eyes then placed his face in his hands. It was around 8 but the sky was inky black. An occasional star would dot the bleak sky, but the shrouds of misty grey clouds easily diminished the silver light.

"You alright, Deano?" Gabriel asked, despite adding Dean's new nickname Gabe's voice was soft.

Dean groaned and turned to face his roommate. "Peachy." He replied sarcastically, smiling humourlessly.

Gabriel just looked down, not knowing what to say or do. He had never had to console someone after they'd seen a corpse before. Both the boy's head perked up as they heard a knock at the door. They shared a glance, knowing no one was meant to leave their room. Gabriel got up and answered the door.

"Well, well, well, breaking the rules. Cassie that's a first." Gabriel joked but didn't smile as two people stepped through the door.

"Sammy's feeling rebellious tonight." Dean joined before lying back down on his bed. Trying to add humour didn't work at lightening the mood.

"Ha ha, hilarious." Sam replied sarcastically. "Once again Dean, its Sam. And anyway, we came to see how you were holding up."

"How sentimental of you but I know that's not the real reason you're here. I'm your brother; you know I don't do chick flick moments." Dean replied.

"Okay fine, we wondered if you knew anything. We didn't get to speak to you before we were pushed to our rooms and the teachers won't even say who it is." Sam stated, sitting across from Dean on Gabriel's bed. Gabriel sat next to him and Dean sat up, Castiel stayed in a corner.

"Y'know that girl Kim was looking for?" Dean asked solemnly.

"Yeah... Zoey wasn't it?" Sam answered.

"Yeah. It was her."

"Poor girl." Castiel said from the corner of the room sadly. "How'd she die?"

"I have no idea. There was blood on the back of her head, maybe someone hit her with... something, I don't know." Dean sighed.

"Wait, you mean like, murder?" Gabriel chimed in.

"Well I don't see how she could have done it to herself." Dean commented.

Sam paused for a moment then thought of something. "Could have been an accident. She might have fallen or something."

"Maybe but, I don't know. It just doesn't sit right."

An unnerving silence fell on the four of them before a loud beeping tore through it.

"It is with great sadness that we must announce that one of our students, Zoey Proasheck, was found dead in the girl's bathroom this afternoon. We are not 100% sure how it happened but we can assure students it was nothing more than a terribly unfortunate accident. Her loved ones have been notified and we offer our deepest sympathies to those close to Miss Proasheck. This is absolutely terrible, especially for this to happen on the first day. A minutes silence will begin after the beep." The announcement stopped and another beep sounded.

Silence.

Beep.

"Thank you."

Donna hugged her sobbing roommate tightly. She had no idea what to do or say, so she just let her cry.

"I-It's my fault!" Kim cried. Donna pulled away and held her shoulders.

"How on Earth is this your fault?" She asked.

"B-because I sho-ould have been w-with her. I shouldn't h-have left h-her alone."

"Kim, how could you have known something would happen? There was no way this is your fault!" Donna assured her and Kim made a muffled sound before curling into a ball and crying silently. Donna once again wrapped her arms round her frowning.

"I'm sorry." Kim sniffed calming down.

"For what? You've done nothing wrong." Donna replied softly.

Kim nodded slowly. "I'm going to have a shower." She managed to whisper before getting up. "Oh..." She turned to face her roommate "...thank you...for comforting me."

"No problem." Donna sighed as Kim disappeared into the bathroom.

The young girl buried her head in her hands. What was going on? There was no way that was just an accident. Donna got a daunting feeling in the pit of her stomach. Something wasn't right here, she just knew it...

~x-x~

First off, I am so sorry I didn't update on Wednesday, I was having a bit of an existential crisis but not... it's complicated. Anyway the next day I was honestly too ill, I felt like death. Unfortunately the updates will be like this a lot more due to me not actually having any more pre-written chapters after this one... I'm sorry.

Also, before I forget, I should probably mention it was my friend's, gerardwayshappyplace, birthday a while ago and I forgot to give them a shout out... whoops, oh well they don't read this anyway I don't think. Seriously though, they are so talented and you should check them out if you like Pierce The Veil or Tonight Alive and if you don't, read it anyway!
