I woke up in the morning and just smiled. Today was my wedding day. I was getting married to the most amazing man in the entire world and it was gonna be great. Almost all of the WWE had come out to be there.
Nikki, Brie, Lisa, Alicia, Trinity, Nattie, and aunt Dana had stayed over at my dad's while the guys that were in the wedding were staying at Dean's mom's house. This way, Dean and I wouldn't see each other until the moment I walked down the aisle.
There was a knock on my bedroom door and then it opened. Aunt Dana walked in with a cup of coffee. "Here. I thought you could use this." she said handing me the cup.
"Thanks." I said. I took a sip of it and then set off the side. "I can't believe it's already here."
"I know. You've grown up so much and I am so proud." she said.
"Don't make me cry aunt Dana. This is supposed to be a happy day." I said.
"Okay. No tears. I promise." she said. "We're all getting ready downstairs. You might wanna take a shower and get down there so we can get your hair done."
"Okay. I'll be down in a few minutes." I said.
"Okay." She got up and walked out while I got in the shower and tried my best to be quick.
Once I got out, I got dressed into a pair of sweats and a tank top. It was the best way to make sure I wasn't getting into my dress yet. Not that I could. Aunt Dana and the girls took everything over last night as well as set up the church so it looked amazing. I hadn't seen any of it yet. Not even the reception that the guys and girls put together while Dean and I spent time together last night. Since it was coming from the girls, I knew it was gonna be amazing.
I walked downstairs and everybody clapped and cheered. "There's the bride." Nikki said.
"How are you feeling?" Brie asked.
"I'm okay. Ask me again in a few hours." I said.
"It's an exciting day." Lisa said.
Aunt Dana walked up to me with a little box in her hands. "Okay, so I know you said no tears today but I think I'm gonna make an exception. I gave you one thing at your bachelorette party. Here's the second part. There's a note that goes with it." She put the box down and handed me the piece of paper. I opened it and started reading.
My dear, sweet, Jaylynn,
Well, if you're reading this, then that means you are getting married today. I am very sorry that I couldn't be there for it. Life doesn't always turn out the way we hope and I know that with the love of your family and friends, whom I'm sure you are to meet as you grow, you will get through it without me. I am severely disappointed that I cannot attend your wedding but I am very proud of you. No matter what you choose to do with your life, I know you are gonna make a difference. You have the heart of a warrior and you're gonna be just fine. I promise. I have asked Dana to give you things as you grew up and those are things that I would have given you myself, had I lived. You are such a beautiful woman Jaylynn Marie and you are going to continue to be beautiful and inspire so many. Today, is a special day for you. I know in my heart that you are going to marry a wonderful guy and he is going to make you the happiest that you will ever be in your life. So, for today, I am giving you something else. It's not the first time and it certainly won't be the last time you get something from me. In the box is something that I know you would have wanted to wear on your wedding day and now you can. I know you are going to look absolutely beautiful with it on and I cannot wait to see it as I'm looking down on you from heaven. This is something I wore when I married your dad. I love you so much Jaylynn Marie Michael. Wear this, and think of me. Congratulations!
Love,
Mom.
I had tears running down my face as I read it out loud. I just knew that everyone else had tears in their eyes. Even aunt Dana did. I set the paper down and opened up the box. Inside was my mom's wedding veil that she wore. It was simple but it was beautiful. I had to sit down because it was all just overwhelming.
Once I was calm enough, I sat down in one of the chairs and let the girls go to work on my hair. Everyone else already had their hair and makeup done so it was just me left. It was a good thing because my wedding was in about five hours.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We were at the church getting ready. I had made sure that I didn't cry before I walked down the aisle. Everybody was in their dresses and ready for the ceremony to begin. I was in the little room where I had to wait. Everybody else was somewhere else.
There was a knock on the door and then it opened revealing my dad. When he looked at me he smiled. "You're wearing your mother's veil and necklace." he said.
"Yeah." I said.
"You look so beautiful."
"I'm not gonna cry dad so don't make me." I told him.
"I won't." he said. "It's almost time. They're getting everybody seated and Dean's getting up on the alter."
"Good." I said.
"So, are you nervous?"
"More like completely ready to panic."
"You'll be okay. You look beautiful and that man out there is gonna treat you like a queen. I'm gonna see to it."
I chuckled. "Thanks dad."
There was another knock on the door and then Roman walked in. "Hey baby girl. You look so beautiful." he said.
I hugged him. "Thank you. You look really nice."
"Thanks. They're starting." he said.
I nodded and Roman walked out followed by my dad and I. "Don't let me fall dad." I said.
"I won't." he said.
The music started and the first people to go out were, Alicia and Jason. Next was Nattie and Jenson, Trinity and Jimmy, Brie and Addison, Nikki and Jey, Lisa and Seth and then aunt Dana and Roman before my dad and I.
Once it was our turn, I locked arms with my dad. This was it. This was the moment I was waiting for. We took a step and then it was natural. At first I was looking at the ground but then I looked up at Dean and a smile formed on my face. He just looked at me with complete awe.
We made it up to the alter and my dad gave Dean my hand. I smiled at him and then Dean and I took our place up by the pastor.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the joining of hearts. There are many things to be said about the love between Dean and Jaylynn but today they want to share a few words with each other. Dean." the pastor said.
"Jaylynn, I'm not really good at this kind of stuff, taking my feelings and putting them into words but with you, it becomes so much easier. When I met you, I was lost. I was not the best person to be around and I know that but as time went on, and we found each other, I found my way. I found my way to something great. Something that some people don't ever get to experience and that's love. I got to feel the love you have for me and I got to return that with the same amount of love for you, if not more. Jaylynn, you are one of a kind and you are very special to me and to so many others in the worlds. With your kind words and your big heart, you have made even the most difficult person such as myself, into someone who is worth something. You make people see their worth and you always make them feel accepted. I know I felt that way, even the first day we met. I felt wanted and accepted by you. Today, we stand before our friends and our family and we proclaim the love we have for each other and I will enjoy every second of my life with you. Every inch that our love grows each and every day. I love you Jaylynn. I always will." Dean said.
I teared up a little. "Jaylynn?"
"Dean, they say that the most powerful word and feeling you could ever imagine in the world is love and I truly believe that. From the first moment I saw you I felt a connection and it was really strong. It is to this day and I think will always be strong. But today, that feeling has double and I can't imagine that it gets any better than this. Standing here, in front all of our friends and family and telling each other how much we love we each other. That might be easy for some people because they would just name off all of the things they love about one another but today I don't find it so easy to put that love into words. Even if I did go through the list of things about you that I'm in love with, we may be standing here forever but no matter how long it takes, I will tell you every day a new list of reasons why I love you. Today we are standing in the house of God and with so many loved ones looking down upon us, smiling and just absolutely happy for us and I can't say that I blame them because I am incredibly happy too. You make me happy Dean Ambrose and I'm not sure you realize it sometimes but you do. I'm the happiest I've ever been with you. This morning I got a new gift from my mother and as much as I love it, which I do, I don't think it's the materialistic things that matter. What truly matters is that today, we vow to spend the rest of our lives committed to each other and enjoying each others' company and love. I love you Dean Ambrose and I am so happy to be becoming Mrs. Ambrose." I said.
"Can I have the rings please?" the pastor asked. Roman and aunt Dana gave the rings us and we turned back to each other. "Do you, Dean Ambrose, vow to love and cherish this woman for rest of your life?"
"I do." Dean said.
"Do you, Jaylynn Michael, vow to love and cherish this man for the rest of your life?" he asked me.
"I do." I said.
"Then, by the power vested in me, by the state of Ohio, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Dean, kiss your beautiful bride already."
I chuckled and Dean and I pressed our lips together. Everyone cheered and clapped for us. I was officially Mrs. Jaylynn Ambrose.
