Chapter 4

Amber

The rush of adrenaline coursed through her body as Amber and Kimberly arrived at the packhouse as most of their army had already formed up per their Beta's command. As Amber and Kimberly got closer to the packhouse, their father was standing on the porch, barking orders. " Get those kids to the safe places like we practiced and prepare yourselves for these peons that think they can just come knocking at our door." Joseph Massanova despite his age was still a force to be reckoned with at the ripe age of his late 50s, though since he had gotten with their mother, his physical form was still young and ripe with the muscle of his youth with the body of 30. He turned to meet eyes with Amber and Kimberly, his voice solemn as the people around them were following his orders to get ready for a fight." I'm going to need a nice and long message after this is over, you're aware that we have reports of rogues on their way into our territory?" Amber nodded as Kimberly gave a one-handed thumbs up, to which their father smirked and stepped off to the side to allow Amber and Kimberly to pass him as he continued. "As of the last 5 hours, three of our scouts reported rogues in the north, west, and east of the territory, quick moving and almost as silent as a mouse. That means there just trying to slip through though they haven't done anything rash just yet as unpredictable as they are. What troubles me is their formation." Amber could already picture what the rogues were after" they're looking for targets, but why us? and why here?" Amber couldn't fathom why random rogues would want to tread on their territory and the purpose was just as blank to her as her father finished explaining the situation.

 "Your mother and I are taking part in this fight, stay together and make sure you don't split up, I want you both to stay safe." a pack warrior and messenger named Aderious Walker ran up to them as they were standing in the living room as he bent head and bowed " Alphas I bring urgent news, the rogues have taken human hostages and their leader is among the massive force to the north." Joseph nodded in understanding " that's where I will go, Amber and Kimberly take the Western front, Maria my dear if you would please take the Eastern side." Aderious took off back to the northern front of the territory as Amber and Kimberly went to the Western side, before this though Amber turned around and ran up and hugged her father tightly" please be careful Tama" She felt him smile as he held her to his chest and kissed her head" I will be alright and make it back to you, now go" She pulled away and joined Kimberly as she started at a sprint and let the beast from within her free as she transformed into an animal of nature. Where Amber stood before was now a full-bodied wolf of black fur with red-ended tips to match Amber's hair, she looked up ahead to see Kimberly already fully changed herself into her respective wolf. Amber and Kimberly charged toward the battlefield ready to rip apart the enemy as a random brown wolf leaped into the air, Amber growled and launched herself into the other beast sinking her teeth into its ribcage the sharp canines tearing into flesh blood, and bone as the other wolf groaned and struggled in an attempt to gain freedom.

Kimberly

There were wolves of different sizes that came at her left and right each one falling right after the other as Kimberly tore into the fray of fur and growls she met along the way as one wolf she had encountered tried to flank her until she stopped mid-stride and drifted into a left turn to meet the enemy wolf head on and let the animal within her free as she pounced on the suddenly surprised wolf and sunk her teeth into the shoulder of the wolf underneath her and shattered the shoulder of the wolf as the whimper sounded and the animal shifted back into a human form of a young girl looking to be a little younger than Kimberly, the blood flowing into Kimberly demanded more carnage as she wasted little time in devouring the young woman as the beast was set free to do as it pleased, while within Kimberly the woman was asleep in a deep slumber. After a few more miles of blood, broken bones, and shattered windpipes, Kimberly and Amber arrived at the center point of the western side of the territory to find a woman and a man on their knees with zip ties tied to their wrists. As Amber growled and was about to pounce, another woman and a man walked out of the bushes behind the two people sitting down on their knees. The light of the moon shed light between the trees as Kimberly sensed the danger as the beast within her was ready to attack until she looked and got a good look at the man on his knees, blood dripping from a nasty blow to his head and his uniform ripped to shreds with his hair covered in dirt and blood was David, while next to him was Stacy in better shape but still no better than David as Kimberly noticed a freshly seared Brand mark on the side of her neck that read " Breeded Slut" Kimberly growled in anger as she bowed low until the man and woman in front of her started to laugh hysterically as the man had a crazed look in his eyes, the man suddenly bowed and then smiled as if he had won the lottery as he bent himself back up straight and grinned, his voice of devilish joy and malice " hello there, grand Massanova Family, my name is the grand architect Emerson Jones, I am here to ensure that our little " secret" isn't so secret anymore." Emerson stood as a white man with frost white hair down to his shoulders and marred in tattoos except for his face and neck, while the woman next to him was wearing a simple tank top and shorts, slim and petite her eyes and anger nearly matching that of Kimberly in her wolf state.

Kimberly knew the law of the wolves which forbid them from interfering in affairs concerning humans and wolves though that didn't mean that wolves could freely initiate contact. Emerson grinned in glee as he slowly brought an ax from behind his back and stamped it into the ground. " You have two choices, either bring him here to us or both of these two little treats become one with the earth, permanently" Kimberly gave a look of confusion as she eyed a silent moving Amber slowly making her way over to David until the woman standing next to Emerson noticed all too soon and whipped out a shotgun and cranked the pump and aimed the barrel at Stacy's head, Kimberly and Amber were out of options as Amber rumbled furiously at being discovered. we need to make a move fast. Kimberly worked out as many strategic options as she could that would result in saving both Stacy and David when the silent whistle of an arrow flew past her and lodged itself into Emersons' shoulder as he grunted and staggered back, the point of the arrow sticking out of his shoulder with skin and blood as a man in all black with a hoodie covering his face landed between them and notched another arrow and let it loose as it landed directly into the woman who held the shotgun as she dropped lifeless to the ground. Kimberly and Amber used this moment to spring into action as they launched themselves at Emerson who ripped out the arrow from his shoulder and shifted into his wolf, the man in the black hoodie clothing stopped as he was about to knock another arrow. Kimberly and Amber barreled into Emerson as they tumbled around on the ground and bared teeth and fangs as Emerson was putting up a fight, thinking the same thing as they both circled around him, Amber gave Kimberly a knowing look as Emerson was covered in bite marks and small bits of blood, he let out a loud howl and charged at Kimberly as Amber went for his rear giving Kimberly the chance to sink low as Emerson almost passed over her as Amber sunk her teeth into his leg and yanked on it hard causing him to be pulled back as Kimberly sprung herself up and headbutted Emerson in the snout knocking him out cold as he landed on the ground motionless.

After Amber and Kimberly checked each other for any more injuries, Kimberly noticed that the strange man in black clothing along with David and Stacy was gone without a trace. Amber transformed back into her human form and walked over to a knocked-out Emerson and found the zip ties he had used to tie up David and Stacy together, she bent down and picked it up off the ground to find that it had been cut loose. As Amber turned to Kimberly she put Emerson on her back and straddled Kimberly's wolf as they raced for the packhouse and wolf howls of victory rang throughout the night until they got to the packhouse, their father was alive but wounded as his body was caked in blood from a shoulder wound and holding his ribs as he was limping toward his wife and two daughters who met him at the front porch as he slowly collapsed from exhaustion, they brought him inside and set him down slowly on the couch as Amber and their mother went to work mending his wounds, Kimberly knelt beside him holding his hand in hers as his breathing had returned to normal and his eyes open as he slowly looked over to see Kimberly still on her knees next to him. As Amber had returned with more first aide equipment, Joseph spoke up though his voice was still a little weak as he opened his mouth to speak saying the name of the person who the rogues were after. Kimberly sat up and looked at her father as Amber dropped the first aide kit with a thud to the floor.
