Emily turned staring into JJ's eyes, "Good morning," she said, smiling.

Not seeming to be bothered by Emily's bruises anymore, JJ replied with a smirk, "what time is it?" She said yawning, causing Emily to yawn as well.

She took a look at her watch, "it's almost 8:00."

"We're supposed to be on the jet around 8:30, let's get dressed," JJ got up, leaving Emily lying on the bed, worrying about going back.

Reminding her about flying back home made her tense. Josh would continue where he left off by beating her until she turned black and blue. Emily didn't want to leave, she just wanted to stay right where she was with JJ because JJ made her feel better. She made her feel safe and no longer frightened. After every time Josh beat Emily, she would sit there like an abused animal and obey his commands because she knows better than to just fight back.

"Em, are you gonna get ready anytime soon?" JJ asked, realizing Emily was still laying on the bed.

"Yeah," she quickly sat up, stretching her back.

It was almost 8:30 and JJ and Emily made it to the jet with the rest of the team. Everyone was happy to finally get back home, but as for Emily, she wasn't that excited. She sat in the back of the plane, alone, staring out the window and feeling the burns that were left on her arms from Josh. She rolled her sleeves back down as JJ came over with a cup of coffee for her.

"Here," JJ placed the cup down in front of Emily on the table.

"Thanks," a sad kind of smile appeared on her face.

To JJ, Emily was out of it. She wasn't acting like herself lately.

"Emily, are you sure you're okay?" She sat down across from her friend.

"Yes, why?"

"Because you've been acting strange lately and I feel like there's something wrong. First, there were the bruises on your face and now you seem upset about something."

"JJ, I'm fine," Emily looked her square in the eye, daring her to say anymore.

The blonde figured out Emily's message which was the 'Let it go' face. She leaned back in her chair, not saying another word. She had a feeling that something was wrong. Every time Emily was upset about something, she would stop JJ from helping her because she wanted to "handle it on her own" no matter how much help she needed. Even if JJ isn't a profiler, she can still figure out if something's wrong with someone, that's only if she knows them very well, like Emily for instance. Emily was always that kind of girl who acted like they're tough and okay on the outside but is actually broken and upset on the inside in certain situations.

JJ looked out the window with thoughts running through her head.

What if Emily is hiding something that's worse then I think it is? What if it's about Josh? Could he be the one that put bruises on her face? No, he's a sweet guy, he would never do something like that.

A minute of silence broke out between them until Emily's phone rang. Not surprised at who it was, she rolled her eyes the second she saw the name. Of course it was Josh, who else would it be?
