I woke up tired and exhausted. Brendon left early around 7:00am for work, but it was my time off so I stayed in bed. My phone started going off so I answered it. "Hello?" I said. My voice was rather croaky seeing as I was so tired. "Hey, its Jess and Skyla" They whispered. "Why are you whispering?" I asked. I heard them talking to each other but I didn't understand what the were saying. "Uhm, we cant continue the pact. We aren't allowed near you three no more because your pregnant!" Skyla whispered.
I sat up immediately. "WHAT?" I shouted down the phone. "SHH! And I'm sorry. We're sorry, we can't do it" Jess whispered. "You know what, delete my number. Don't bother contacting any of us AGAIN!" I said, hanging up the phone call. I heard Lexi fumbling about and moments later she came in. "You ok?" She asked sleepily, climbing into my bed, burying her face in my pillow. "No!" I growled. "Why?" She yawned. "Jess and Skyla dropped out of the pact and wont talk or hang out with us again because we are pregnant!" I muttered. Lexi buried her head further into the pillow. Possibly wasn't news she wanted to hear, considering yesterday.
Lexi sat up and shook her head. She looked upset. "It's ok, they obviously aren't true friends...As long as I have you, and you have me, I'm fine!" She said. I smiled. Lexi had always felt like my sister, we were always that close! I nodded and hugged her. "Hey how about we go and buy some paint and paint the baby nursery? Then we can go through baby names for my girl?" I smiled. She nodded. We both changed into leggings and a top. I didn't bother with make-up. Neither did she. We got the bus into town and went to Delux Paint Shop. We went inside and went through all the girly colours.
I found Cupid Pink wall paint and fell in love with the colour. I put the paint tin in a trolley and get some paint brushes. I payed for the paint and brushes from my wages and they only cost a £10 note for it all. We then went in Store 21 to see if there was anything decent in there. I saw wooden blocks spelling 'Baby Girl' in cupid pink. I put it in a basket. I also saw a pink baby collection book and put it in the basket. I saw a pink box, it had embroidery patterns of baby girl feet in dark pink over it. I put two in the basket and payed with a £20 note.
Then we got the bus back home. When we got in, Lexi made us both a coffee and we put on Heart FM on the radio. We took the coffee and paint etc into the room with all the boxed baby furniture. I put a large sheet over the boxed furniture and on the floors so I didn't get the paint everywhere. I got one brush, Lexi got the other and together we started painting the baby nursery. The cupid pink paint went nicely on the walls, it really gave a feel to the room. We started two different walls so it was done quicker. About an hour later two walls were completely painted pink. We stopped for lunch break. I made us bacon butties. We wolfed them down and then carried on painting the nursery.
I heard a knock at the door halfway as I was painting the 3rd wall. I put the brush, resting on the paint and opened the door. It was a man with a cardboard box. The postman. "Hello, Summer Pearce?" He asked. I nodded. "That's me" I smiled. He placed the cardboard box inside my house by the door and gave me a electronic clipboard and I signed it. He left on his bike and went to the next house. I shut the door and pushed the box into the kitchen on the counter. Lexi joined me seconds later. I used scissors to cut the tape open, then I opened the box.
Lexi and I peered over the box, looking inside. It was loads of pink teddy bears, baby books, baby bottles, bibs, pink and purple socks, and little pink blankets. I cooed and awwwed but I then found a card. It was from Kyle's parents. They bought it yesterday when Kyle told them it was a girl. I smiled and left everything in the box on the kitchen side, and we went to finish the painting in the nursery.
About another hour later, we had finished painting the whole nursery. It looked amazing, cupid pink walls with a white door and white window panes. When we finished, we sat in my room on my bed, looking on Google search for 'cute baby girl names'. I wrote down 5 that really stood out to me:
1.) Alexis
2.) Sierra
3.) Brooke
4.) Millie
5.) Piper"ALEXIS. Then you can nick name her Lexi like me" She giggled. "I like Sierra the best. Sierra Pearce, a nick name can be See-See. Hmmm, I think Sierra" I smiled. Then Brendon came in through the back door into the bedroom. "Hello girls. Why does it smell like paint in here?" He asked. We giggled and got up, I took his hand. "Close your eyes" I smiled. He closed his eyes and I led him to the baby nursery. "Open" I whispered. He opened his eyes and looked around the painted baby nursery. He smiled widely. "It looks fantastic!" He smiled. I laughed. "Now all you got to do is put the furniture together" I winked, and walked out smirking.
He seemed absolutely fine with it. I sat on the couch with Lexi, munching on sweets whilst Brendon started putting the furniture together. I heard drills, screw drivers and all sorts of tools - which worried me a little bit. "ARRRHHGGGG!" I heard him moan. We laughed, hearing his frustration. Around 4:00pm me and Lexi fell asleep on the couch. I was awoken half an hour later by gentle shaking. I opened my eyes to find Brendon. "Come have a look" He whispered. He helped me stand up and walked me into the baby nursery. I walked in and the paint was dry! Also he had put the baby furniture together! There was a white wooden crib, white changing table, white nappy bin, White chest of drawers, white shelving which Brendon had put up on the walls. I gasped and hugged him, kissing him gently on the lips.
I then got the baby stuff I bought, and the stuff from the box which Kyle's parents sent me and took them into the nursery. I put the books and teddies on the shelf. I put all the socks into one pink box I bought earlier, and I put the bibs in the other box I bought earlier. I put them two boxes on the bottom shelf on the changing table. I put the roses from my maths teacher in a pink vase and in the nursery on the white drawers. Then I went to bed. I was too tired to say up any more and do stuff. Brendon went home later on and I went to bed, Lexi was still crashed out on the sofa from earlier.
