Joe followed Denise and Marty into a room which would be his room for a little while. It was spacious, it had a bed in the corner against the wall with a bedside table next to it and a alarm clock sat on top with a lamp. Against one wall was a wardrobe where he would keep his clothes, he had a set of drawers which he could also keep clothes in or belongings. It had a TV and phone sat on top of it. The walls were a cream colour but was welcome to put up pictures which reminded him of home, he had packed plenty of pictures. There was a door which led him into his own bathroom which held a toilet, shower and sink, it had a wash basket too to keep his dirty laundry.
"I'll leave you to get unpacked, I'll be back soon." Marty stated before leaving the room using his fob, Joe's room wasn't fobbed but the doors outside his room were blocking him from the other rooms down the corridor. The main reason for the fobs were in case a patient kicked off, they couldn't go far or harm anybody. Joe wouldn't spend a lot of time in his room anyway,
"Do you like it?" Denise questioned her son as she looked up at him.
"It's not home is it?" Joe answered sitting on the edge of the bed.
"You'll be home before you know it," Denise promised grabbing one of his bags beginning to unpack it. "Phone Demi if you want, it won't be too early over there now."
"I-I miss her already." Joe admitted.
"Which is why you should call her, go outside into the corridor and I'll continue unpacking." Denise demanded softly Joe nodding his head gently following his mother's instructions standing outside but it took him a minute feeling overwhelmed.
Demi looked up from the telly when she heard her phone ring, she would have it on loud all the time now and not on silent. Even if Joe needed her in the middle of the night she'd answer, she didn't care about that. A wide smile came to her face when she saw that it was Joe. She didn't hesitate to answer the call holding the phone up to her ear.
"Hi Demi." He breathed.
"Hey, how are you? How was the flight?" Demi questioned.
"I-I don't even remember it, Matt came at the beginning and kicked off then Joey came after I had some sleep, he stayed until he got bored in the office. Marty is nice though or what I've seen of him." Joe answered as he gazed out the window.
"That's good Joe, I'm sure you'll settle in fine." Demi praised Joe having to wipe a tear that escaped his eyes. It was hard talking to her over the phone and not face to face, they only just admitted how much they love each other and then they were separated.
"How is the baby?" Joe questioned Demi sighing but she soon reassured him when he started to panic over the phone.
"I had a little problem, started bleeding but everything is fine now. I just have to rest for a couple of days, um the doctor revealed the gender by mistake. Colton knows because he was there but I haven't told anyone else because I thought you should know next." Demi explained.
"I don't want to know over the phone but are you happy?" Joe questioned.
"Of course, the gender never mattered to me, I'll have just as fun raising one gender with you then I would the other." Demi explained.
"Then I don't need to know, as long as your happy," Joe breathed Demi smiling about to speak when Joe did again. "Everyone keeps saying I'll be home in no time but what if I'm not?"
"Then it doesn't matter, we just want you better and for you not to rush it. We all miss you like crazy already but we all know this is the best for your welfare." Demi explained.
"I want to leave already." Joe choked beginning to cry Demi sighing trying to comfort him over the phone but she couldn't, not over the phone. She soon heard Denise over the phone telling her he would phone later before they both hung up.
