Chapter 39

"The hostages are being held under their agency's headquarters?"

The captain rubbed at his temples for the hundreth time, "Yes, now please get swatt on the move. One of the hostages is the Queen's grandaughter."

"We'll be there" the line clicked dead and was transferred back to the President.

"What did they say?"

"Swatt is moving out as we speak sir."

"What news of the hostages?"

The captain let out a huge sigh, "no news sir. The plan is to catch them by surprise so they don't have time to run."

"Good. I have spoken to the Queen. They are immediately heading out. I will meet them and bring them in. The last thing we need is another scandal on our hands."

"I agree with you sir. We will make sure the girl stays safe."

"I hope you do captain. She's the last and only family heir of royal blood according to her grandmother."

The line clicked dead. The captain gathered his things, and headed out the door.

Outside of the agency the captain met with the Swatt team, going over their plan of procedure. Every employee would be gathered together and the rescue would commence.

"Once we have them arrested we will have him arrested and put in a prison located near D.C. until they are tried an handed over to the UK government.

The captain nodded hi approval, "well boys, we have a princess to rescue."

""""""""""

"Who will it be princess? Ben or Blake?" Tom toyed the pistol between them both. A agonizingly slow as he wa going, Coral kept quiet.

James now lay unconscious nearby. Sophia had not screamed or protested. You could however, see that she was heartbroken. The river flow of tears was evidence enough.

Patrick and Emily, the agents she'd known as parents sat in a corner not too far watching.

"Alright since ou refuse to answer" he pulled the trigger.

"Bang!"

An ear-piercing scream echoed the room followed by another, and a series of cursing.

Emily now lay on her back, biting back another scream.

"No please stop!", Coral begged as salty tears cascaded down her cheeks.

"I warned you about what would happen", he crookedly grinned, "and I am a man of my word"

He made his way over to Sophie next

"Why, you're awfully quiet" he mocked "What's wrong? Cat got your tounge?"

When she refused to look at him, he pulled her gruffly to his face, "Or is it because James betrayed you? It makes me so glad to finally shut you up, and in more was than one"

The unexpected happened. She looke him straight in the eye, without fear or any emotion at all for that matter.

"Go to hell!" And spat in his face.

Anger coursed through his veins. He quickly brought the pistol to her head and just as he pulled the trigger, Blake snapped the ropes from his wrist and sprinted over, pushing him out o the way just in time for the bullet to miss its target.

Tom let out a grunt of surprise as they both landed on the floor. Blake had already removed Tom quite a distance, but Sophia took the opportunity to slide back as far as possible, indicating both Patrick and Emily to do the same.

Coral wiggled her arms around attempting to loosen her ropes and help Blake , but all that resulted was more pain.

"What are you doing?" Ben hissed

"I'm dancing what does it look like I'm doing?" She retorted sarcastically, "my mother jut it shot because of me, Sophia almost got killed, and now Blake is on the death row! I have to do something!"

Ben could not help but feel jealous. All he wanted at the moment was to sit still and hope that Blake was hurt.

But the moment those thoughts left his mind, he looked back at all the good times they had as best friends, how the day they met was like finding the brother they never had

FLASHBACK:

Ben had just stepped off the plane and had absolutely no idea how to get to the agency. But he decided he would search the next day and find a motel that night to rest from the jet lag.

After arriving at the motel he locked his door and instantly knocked out on the double bed. A few hours later, his grumbling stomache had woken him. He got up an made his way over to the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face to wake him up a bit.

Checking the time on his phone, he saw that it was now nine-thirty. Room service would not be available so he checked his map and brochure to scope out someplace to eat. After deciding on Buffalo Wild Wings, he grabbed his wallet and room key and made his way out.

He took in the scenery around him: lots of trees, lights, and noise. Way different than his home town in Iowa. He loved it.

Turning the corner, he ran into an old man sitting down, sign in hand that read "Homeless. Any donation will help. God Bless."

The man's clothes were dirty, almost clinging to him along with a foul odor showing that he clearly hadn't showered in a very long time. All he had with him was a beat up, stained fedora hat, one that was most likely given to him.

He DEL bad for the old man. Partly because he too was sort of homeless. He took his wallet out, taking the only two dollars cash he had on him and threw it in his hat, "have a goodnight sir"

The man looked at his hat, clearly disappointed.

"That's all you got?"

Ben turned bewildered, "That's all the cash I had on me."

"We'll that's what ATM's are for, buoy don't got twenty bucks on a card or something?"

"N-No sir" he replied, for that wa all he had to buy him his dinner.

The old man stood up and with such force grabbed Ben'a arm, "Well then you better go get me some 'cuz I sure ain't gonna do me no good with two dollars" his foul odor wa enough to make Ben want to puke.

"Let him go old man" a voice yelled out, startling Ben.

A young man around his age stood with a menacing look aimed toward the homeless man. He had black hair, green eyes, a muscular build, and a foreign accent, "Be grateful that he gave you all he had. It says so on your sign right?"

The man scowled at him and reluctantly let him go, gathering hi things and walking away.

"Thanks for that" Ben straightened his collar out.

The young man nodded, "No problem. You're not from around here are you?"

Ben shook his head, "How'd you guess?"
