Dodging floating pieces of rubble, Inferno swam toward the citadel. She had to reach Stone and Sharm in time. If she didn't, all the mer blood that had been spilled today would be for nothing. Inferno could hear screaming and sounds of battle. She saw a merman with a black mask on swimming toward her, swinging his sword down towards her. Inferno swung her ax up to block him, and the sound of metal on metal made her ears ring.
Inferno twisted her ax to the left and sent the masked warrior's sword spinning out of his grasp. Taking advantage of the warrior's distraction, Inferno drove her ax into his chest. Red blood scrawled through the water as she pulled her ax free. She continued on her way to the citadel.
Swimming through the entrance she could she Stone and Sharm standing by a swirling vortex of water. "Is it ready?"
"Yes." Stone swam toward her, "In order to stop the Darkness from ever rising, you have to go back in time and stop it before it begins. You will need to find your mother, her name is Tsunami. Since you're in the past, she will be the same age as you are now. Good luck my friend."
Inferno nodded, committing Stone's instructions to memory. She gripped her ax tightly in both hands and swam into the vortex.
