"I don't feel like going anywhere tonight baby, I just want to sleep." I pulled the covers over my head.
Yesterday had me totally drained me. My father popping up like a damn jack-in-the-box. My profession of love for Jidenna, love I didn't even know I felt.
Ahhhhhhh! I just wanted to forget it all. Disappear if I could.
"Not taking no for an answer. You been in this bed all day. I been to work and came home. Get up." He slapped my non-existent butt.
"Can't we celebrate another day?" I whined.
"No we're celebrating tonight. Get up." He pulled the covers off of me and scooped me up.
I let out a squeal of laughter as he scooped me in his arms.
"Don't drop me." I eyed him as my legs dangle cover his arms.
"Nigga I lift boxes heavier than you." He sucked his teeth.
I laughed. True.
He carried me to the bathroom. "Get ready." He put me down.
"I don't feel like it babe. How about we just celebrate here." I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a puppy dog face.
"I promise we'll go somewhere chill. Not a lot of people." He pecked my lips.
"Fine." I gave in.
"That's what I thought." He slapped my right thigh with a towel. I hit him equally as hard. That hurtled.
"Damn I your man hand ass." He rubbed his shoulder.
"Get out." I pushed him out and proceeded to take my shower.
I finished up my shower. Then washed my face and brushed my teeth. I did light natural make up. Not too much. Just some BB cream, concealer for under my eyes, and bronzer with a red lip.
I didn't feel like doing a full beat.
I went into his room and put on my clothes. Nothing fancy. Just some black jeans and black tank top.

I fluffed out my natural curls and went to meet Lamar in the living room where he was on the phone talking to his mother.
He hung up with her.
"Ain't you forgetting something?" He asked me.
I looked over myself to see what I could've forgot.
I smiled and went to get my Night Sky necklace off the dresser.
I came back out and tried to put it on. He got up to help me. "Hold that bush." He said about my hair.
"Don't play with me."
He chuckled as he hooked my necklace.
"This is beautiful natural hair." I protested.
"Your crown of glory?" He asked as he finished.
"Yes it is. Take note." I playfully pushed him off of me as he tried to kiss me.
"I'll put you over that kitchen counter and mess that fro up. Keep playing." He touched my hair.
"Goodbye." I hit his hand.
He grabbed his keys and we left his house.
Jidenna POV-

"What y'all got happening tonight?" I asked Herman, the bartender. This was becoming my spot because I was looking for any excuse to be away from Serinda.
"It's Karoke night. You gon try?"
"No, I can't sing." I chuckled.
"Aww you don't have to be able to sing. You just have fun. That's the point of Karaoke.
"Maybe we'll see." I took a sip of my drink. My cup slowly lowered when I saw, I and Lamar walk in.
I quickly drank the rest of my drink.
"Imma get outta here Herm. Got to get some work done."
"Aww man just stay for one round of Karoke. You got to hear Mertle's version of Brick House."
"Whose Mertle?" I laughed.
"The Ol oompah loompa with gold teeth, that come in here yesterday with some Hayyyy Herman." He mocked her voice.
I laughed.
Isis POV
"Me and the guys come here after work sometimes."
"Lamar it looks like nothing but grandparents in here."
"Unh-unh. There go Donald Trump right there."
I looked across the room and saw Jidenna who was talking to the bartender.
" maybe we should go somewhere else. This is like a nursing home."
"It's Karoke night we bout to have some fun. And as truce to show you how much I love you and trust you, and I'm trying to be better this time around, Imma invite Donald trump to celebrate with us."
"Why do you keep calling him that?"
"Him and Donald got that lil side swoop." Lamar swooped his imaginary hair.
I chuckled. "No. It looks like he's about to leave anyway."
"Then we'll catch him." He grabbed my hand and walked over to Jidenna.
I was so nervous to face him and I don't know when Lamar got all nice all of sudden. I kinda wished he was the old him so we could avoid Jidenna.
"Jidenna." Lamar called out as he was about to leave.
Jidenna looked at me, then Lamar. I looked down at my phone to avoid his gaze. He probably thought I had told Lamar what happened and Lamar was here to confront him.
"Oh hey. Didn't see you guys. I was just leaving. Enjoy your night." He said.
"Before you go let me buy you a drink. Celebrate."
"Drink?" He looked confused at Lamar, then me, then back at Lamar.
"Yeah. I'm serious. I want to celebrate with you and Isis. I ain't got the money you got, but I got enough to buy you a drink and throw a few wings in there." Lamar chuckled.
"I don't know what inspired the change of heart, but I appreciate it. Unfortunately I gotta go."
"Come on man. One drink. Just one. I want to prove to Isis I'm committed to being a better man this time around. That starts with me fully trusting her and you. Especially since y'all gon be business partners. That was my insecurities at first, but I'm over it. I refuse to lose my Night Sky again." He grabbed me by my waist and kissed me.
Jidenna look away.
"So what do you say?" Lamar asked.
"Well that's nice of you Lamar, but I'mma have to take a rain check." Jidenna fixed his jacket. "But in the meantime you two enjoy this black love. Excuse me." He smiled at us and walked off.
This could go either terribly right, or terribly wrong. I sighed deeply. 😩
Thanks for the feedback guys. Continue to talk to me about the story in the comments. I love hearing what you have to say.
