Effy looked as if she was deep in thought the whole lesson. She'd already earned herself a formal warning for not paying attention,now it looked like she was heading for a detention if she didn't snap out of it.

It wasn't the fact that she wasn't talking that was bothering me,it was the fact that I knew exactly who she was thinking about and it wasn't me.

Effy's Point of View

I could feel Riley's eyes burning into my back as what he said ran over my mind. I daren't turn around and talk to Jonah because I didn't want him to see how this had put me in a weird mood,so instead I just stared out of the window all lesson.

Mrs Pughes had given me a formal for not listening,but it was so hard to care when I had other things taking up so much space in my mind.

It was then I suddenly felt something hit the back of my head. It was paper,and I just managed to grab it before Mrs Pughes saw it hit the floor.

"Don't open it Eff,it's from him" I heard Jonah whisper from behind.

+

Ignoring him,I flattened out the crumpled piece of paper.

'Dear Effy,

I didn't really explain myself properly earlier,and we really need to talk. Will you meet me at the park under our tree tonight at six? I know I don't deserve this but you really need to hear what I have to say,please.

At the bottom was a hand drawn red rose. Oh my lord,this was so cheesy I almost threw up in mouth. But even though he was an idiot,I still loved him. And though I had no intention of taking him back,I still wanted to give in to my curiosity and hear what he had to say.

I turned to Jonah who had very indiscreetly been reading over my shoulder. "What do you think?" I asked.

"I think you'd be an idiot to go". But as he looked at my face I think he'd pretty much guessed that I had already decided I was going.

"But since when have you listened to me?" He sighed,giving in.
