My Queen Of Hearts

Chapter 3

Ross' Point Of View:

As I woke up this morning in my tour bus bunk I felt different. Something that I couldn't think of at the moment was different. Once I grabbed my phone and saw all of the notifications I finally knew why. Today is my 20th birthday and I'm lucky enough to celebrate it in Las Vegas, Nevada with my family and wonderful girlfriend Courtney.

I got up out of bed and walked to the back of the bus, sitting on the couch and turning on the tv. I glanced down at my phone as a text came in from my mom and dad in a new group text. My dad had texted me first saying, "Hey buddy! Happy birthday! When you wake up come on out to the hotel. Your room is number 420. Oh and go see Rydel and Makenna in room 423, they said they needed to talk to you about something that has to do with your brother Ryland."

Then I read my moms text, "Happy birthday my love. I can't believe that you are already twenty years old! It seems like just yesterday you were rocking out with your siblings in our basement in Colorado. I'm so proud of how far you all have become. I love you and always will."

I make sure that I text them both back and say thank you, walking off the bus still on my phone. I hear my phone ding again as I walk into the Venetian. A text from my beautiful girlfriend, "Hey babe. I just wanted to say happy birthday and when you wake up come see me in Delly's room. Sorry I wasn't there when you woke up.... I just couldn't wait any longer. 😘 I love you!"

I smile as I read the text. Then I walk to the elevator to get to my room after going to the front desk and getting my room key. Once I hear the ding of the elevator doors I step in and press button 4.

"Ross?!?!?" I hear from a familiar voice. I turn around slowly and once I see who's standing there I look wide eyed as the doors to the elevator close.

Hailey's Point Of View:

Once I woke up I started to get ready so I could leave for the Venetian on time. I will be staying there for a night or two this weekend even though I live here. When I get there I walk up to the front desk.

"Hello and good morning sir. My name is Hailey Lora and I have a reservation set for this weekend..." I tell the guy at the front desk.

"Yes Ms. Lora. You will be staying in room 425 if that's alright with you." He finishes. I nod my head and take the key once he gives it to me. That's actually my birthday, April 25th. After I grab my key, I start to walk to the elevator and as I'm about to press the button my room key falls onto the floor in front of the elevator doors. I quickly grab it as it dings, signally that the elevator has arrived. Once I'm in I press the number 4 and I start to go up.

I go up to my room and put all my stuff away before going back to the elevators to try and explore the hotel. Believe it or not... I've lived here my whole life and have never even been to his hotel/casino. Anyways once I'm in the elevator I realized that I forgot my phone upstairs. When I get to the casino floor I just wait in the elevator as someone walks into the elevator with me.

As I look up I become more shocked then I have ever been before. "Ross?!?!" I say excitedly. He turns around slowly with wide eyes as he screams excitedly in my face,

"OH MY GOSH! HAILEY! When did you get here?!?" He asks as I run and hug him. I just giggle and hug him a little longer. I sure have missed him. You see when I first learned about the band I had a HUGE crush on Ross. I had posters of him covering almost every single wall in my room. I almost died when I heard that one of my best friends was going to be the girlfriend of one of his brothers.

Once I pull away from the hug I finally speak.

"Well first of all I live here. Second of all I'm actually here to see you guys in concert this whole weekend and Makenna really wanted me here for some reason so I'm here. Plus I really missed you guys. All of you... But mostly you." I finish as our faces suddenly start leaning closer to one anothers. When our lips are about to touch the elevator dings and we hear a gasp once the door opens making us jump apart.

Did I forget to mention that Ross and I used to be a thing? Oops. Sorry.... Anyways. Ross and I used to be a thing last summer but then we ended it because of distance and touring and then he found a new girlfriend named Courtney and forgot all about me. But that's all ancient history now. When I slowly turn my head towards the doors I let out a sigh of relief when it's just some old man coming on the elevator.

Ross and I quickly get off quietly snickering and giggling as we walk to our rooms. As I start walking down the hall to my room Ross walks right next to me. At first I'm confused so I say, "Ross aren't you going to go to your room?" He just nods and keeps walking so I do too.

I get to my room and notice that he was going into a room right across the hall from my room. "Hey were neighbors I guess. Umm Rydel and Makenna are in that room right next to yours so go say hi or whatever and I'll be there in a second, they said they wanted to talk to me about Ryland..." Once he says Ryland's name I blush a little, quickly hiding it before he notices.

I quietly go into my room so I don't ruin the surprise and gently open up the connecting door that was in between our rooms. I slowly walk over to the bed where my two best friends lay on the bed with their backs to me. Perfect!

Once I get to the edge of the bed I just jump on them and scream "SURPRISE!" as they jump getting scared. They look at me wide eyed for a few seconds before squealing and making conversation.

"Hailey! How have you been?!?" Rydel asks me.

"I've been pretty good. Oh why do guys want me to meet Ryland so bad? He's the only one that I haven't met since when I was in Colorado when I first met you all he ended up being sick and I didn't go anywhere near him. "

Rydel and Makenna both smile at me and look at each other when I mention Ryland's name. "What? What am I missing here?"

"Hailey. This might sound a little odd but just hear us out. So you see on this tour and any tour really.... Everyone has a girlfriend or boyfriend,she says aiming for the two of them, except Ryland. He's always so sad and mopey whenever he's around one of us couples... And so I thought that since your single and he's single that you guys could try and hang out a little bit? That's why I got you this. Oh! And Jenna will be here too but she's coming to the concert tomorrow and on Monday. There isn't really anyone else for her to date but she'll just have to hang out with us."

She laid down a nice lanyard with a pass on the end that said backstage and another that said Ryland Meet & Greet. I nod my head and look up at them as they look back at me hopefully.

"Let's try this thing out shall we?"

So as you can see I decided to add a little bit of drama! Lol wow this is fun to write. Anyways I really hope you guys liked this chapter and mother should be up soon depending on school cause at the moment I'm doing my science CRT's so it's a little hectic at the moment but I will probably update this week or next week. Oh and also this weekend I might now be able to update because it's my grandmas birthday and then the next day is also my best friends birthday so I will be celebrating those this weekend as well.
