Jared:

It's all out in the open now. Well between me and Kelsea, at least. But we both decided we wanted to keep this between us, at least for a little while.

Which included sneaking around our parents, a little. We would still hang out, but any kissing that took place, happened in secret.

2 months later

Walking through the main doors at school, it's 10:00 o'clock, on a Monday morning, with Kelsea by my side and our parents walking in front of us, it's a little weird. Everyone is looking at us as we walk in, but not the way they use too. I think we should just tell them, Kelsea signed. I signed back, You're the one that wanted to keep it a secret.

Yeah, from our parents, because things would get weird.

So, you are proposing that we let the whole school know, but somehow, still keep it from our parents? Yeah, that will work. I say sarcastically.

Okay, fine. You're right.

I don't know why it's such a big deal. I signed, just as our principal and vice principal walked out of their offices to meet with our parents, well my mom and her dad. They were just talking about how big of a transition it was going to be. Kelsea and I were just ready to go to class, never thought I'd say that. Kelsea's phone pinged, and she tried to cover the noise, then my phone pinged, and slid it into my coat pocket. Mrs. Colton our principal, and Mr. Kraemer the vice principal, both looked at us, and Mr. Kraemer said, "Why don't we go out to the front desk and get your schedules?"

Out in the main office Mr. Kraemer was cracking jokes that made Kelsea and I smile. We start walking down the hall, and Mr. Kraemer gets a call over his radio. "I think we can figure it out, we have to stop at our lockers first, anyway." Kelsea says quickly, before he can say anything over the radio.

"Are you sure?" We both give him a reassuring smile and nod, and he continues, "Okay. If you guys need any help, you can come find me, or ask one of the hall monitors." We both nod again, and watch as he walks down the hall, responding over the radio.

Kelsea and I turn down the hall to go to our lockers. All I see was when I was there without her, when I looked across the hall, and saw the shrine in front of her locker. I look across the hall and there she is pulling a book out of her locker. "Look at this book. I guess this proves how long we've been gone. I'm surprised they didn't clean our lockers out." Kelsea said, jokingly. "Hey, are you all right?"

"I can't remember my locker combination." I said laying my head against the locker. "Here." She walks up next to me, I turn a little, so my shoulder is leaning against the locker next to mine. "22-37-15" She said. I looked at her and smiled. "Thanks."

Mr. Kraemer comes around the corner, "Are you guys good?" He asks turning around, walking backwards, radio in hand. We nod. Then he clicks the side button, and starts talking into it before he's fully turned around. "Are you ready to go?" She asked, I nodded, and we walked to class together, our hands swinging next to each other's, the top of our hands just barely touching, as we walked into Mr. Perry's AP class.

Kelsea:

Jared and I walked into Mr. Perry's class for AP. There was three minutes till the bell, so we waited it out. I was a little worried about seeing Dallas, I haven't talked to him since a few weeks after the accident. The bell rings, and within a few seconds, kids start trickling in a few at a time. I sit in the middle of the room, and Jared was sitting on the desk next to me. Then a few of the football players walked and waved Jared over to them. "Go. Sit with your friends, I'll still be here at the end of the period." He walked to the back of the room talking and laughing with his friends. I was worried about seeing Dallas, I hadn't seen him since after the accident, and didn't want too.

Dallas walked in as the bell rang. He stopped in the doorway when he saw me, his eyes meeting mine, I pulled away just as Mr. Perry said, "Mr. Garcia, will you please take a seat?" Dallas spotted the open seat next to me. Mr. Perry starts by writing an equation on the chalk board. I started writing the problem down in my notebook, trying to ignore Dallas, as he continued to stare at me, I could feel his eyes watching me.

I looked back at Jared a few times during class when it got too unbearable, but he was half paying attention to Mr. Perry as he taught, half joking with his friends.

About twenty minutes into class, Mr. Perry gave us a packet of problems to work on for the rest of the period, "You guys can work with a partner or in groups, but feel free to work by yourselves." Mr. Perry said as he passed out the packets. "Kelsea," Dallas whispered after Mr. Perry passed us. "Kelsea, can we please talk?"

"Dallas, if you don't leave me alone..." I said, getting really mad.

"Kelsea, please, five minutes." He pleaded. I tried to ignore him for the rest of the period. When the bell rang, Jared walked over to me, taking my book bag off the floor, and my books off of my desk. "Hey, are you okay?" I nodded, lying to him, but partially lying to myself. "I didn't know if you wanted me to come over here and say something." He continued as we walked into the hall.

"Would you have done that for me six months ago?" I asked.

"Maybe."

"Okay."

"Okay, what?"

"I'm tired of keeping this a secret."

"I'm sorry. Am I talking to Kelsea Amaro, because as of an hour ago, she didn't want to tell them, now she does?" Jared said.

"Yeah."
