Eye of God POV
Laurel sobbed her heart out silently for a long time, she had never cried so much in her life. Cruel was all she can think of. Nor has she ever been in a situation where her heart is just left shattered in pieces, the king who locked her in this four confined walls happens to shares the same face as the man who finally happened to have her heart. James was the King or so she thought it was him but Laurel knew James wouldn't do this to her, Why? How? Laurel found it hard to remember if she did anything terrible for her to deserve such painful depressing weighs. 😭😔
Curled up in a corner of the cell Laurel just stared at the darkness with salted cheeks and a dusty face, her body became limp and more weaker. Laurel couldn't take it anymore she wanted to die and she wanted to die now, death than none other for herself but she wanted to hold and see Lyras' gift. To gaze at her brothers and sister just one last time before she dies, Papa and Mamas smile replaying in her mind and James' warm brown eyes. Laurel suddenly smiled at the thought only to be replaced by a frown of sadness as the James' face morphed into the Kings glare.☹️😫
Suddenly Laurel rose from where she sat and collected herself as she wiped her face, fixed her ebony hair into a bun and put on a straight face. She walked to the cell door looking out to the guards, she observed her surroundings as she noticed that she was in a cave where the dungeons had stairs and paths leading upwards to the exit and entrance with a guard on each side of the door.
Looking towards the closest guard that stood beside her cell she decided to call out, "Excuse me." She called out hoarsely but the guard kept a straight posture without moving. "Could I please see the Prince? He has something of mine that I need to see for just a short while." Laurel pleaded looking at the guard as he remained immobile, at that moment Legolas made his way down to the dungeons and heard Laurels' plea. Laurel kept looking at the guard with an irritated face, "Sir please...he has my families photographs in my locket...I need them please." Laurel pleaded holding the cell door tightly.
Legolas stood high from a path overhearing Laurels' plea to the guard and looked down at his pocket as he brought out the silver locket, opening the silver locket to look at Laurels' family. Legolas imagined what it would be like to have siblings or other family members that would care so much to carry a portrait of them, the people in the portrait wore smiles-real smiles...they could even convince his father that they were happy, his father hasn't done anything a father would do to his son. Legolas always observed his people and what fathers always did for their children something that his father never did for him when he was younger, "Please sir...I just want to see the Prince than I'll no longer bother you." Laurel begged but the guard but he did give her a small glance as Legolas made his way down to where Laurels' cell is.
Laurel gave a small sigh turning around and leaned on the cell door, "Is it wrong to wish I was never born?" Laurel exhaled as she slid down to the floor and hugged her knees. Legolas heard her and knew her intentions of wanting to kill herself, quickly walking out and in front of her cell he looked straight down at her with her back towards him. "How do you know the king?" Legolas suddenly asked as Laurel jerked from shock and moved away from the cell door, Laurel looked up to see the man from the forest and the one who brought her here. 😥😥
Laurel just stared at him and didn't speak, "You are not from around here, are you?" Legolas said turning and walked to the side of the cell door. Laurel just gave him a blank stare as she thought about the position she's in right now, "You can not be tongueless...after all...you have been begging for my audience." Legolas said as her turned to face her with a small courteous smile.
