The rumbling engine grew quieter as we cruised, still fast enough to hear the waves crash against the belly of the boat. It was a beautiful sight, the sun dipping into the water, leaving the waves glowing with a gold tint. All that I could think about was the girl, the features on her face, and the water gear. More so, the absence of gear.

Ezra laughed and turned to look at me, there was a strange glint in his eye. The boat jerked and pushed up with a wave and a rock. I fell out, nothing but my wet suit on, no air tank. My pruned fingers grabbed around and I groaned in pain as a rock hit my head and between my shoulders. I sunk beneath the rocking waves, my eyesight dimming to blackness.
