Leaving the Past Behind

I have to leave. I can't stay here any longer, this just brings back to many memories... Memories I can't live through again. She, Aphmau, is all it takes to make me melt. I love her, but I know for a fact that she doesn't return my feelings. Last I knew of, she liked Garroth, but he left as soon as we determined that she was gone. Laurence left because he couldn't keep his inner shadow knight under control without Aphmau around, and now I'll leave, because I already went through losing someone you love, and I won't survive if it happens again. I have to leave. I wrote a note, and I left it in the tree. I have nothing to bring with me, so I'll just leave empty handed. As I head out into the charred forest, smokey from being on fire, I try to take light steps, to not alert any of them who might be around. I'm near the shore now, and all I need is a way off this island. I really should of thought about this before running away. I'll just swim, I can make it to Scaleswind, then I'll make my way towards the ruins of Falcon Claw. With O'khasis out of the way, no one should mind a strange wandering the land. Huh, I remember that Aphmau used to can me the Stranger... Never mind, I just need to swim. "Wait!" I hear, as I'm making my way to Scaleswind, "Please, wait! Don't go, I'm sorry for whatever I did, but you have to tell me! I'll make it up so you, I promise!" I felt tears coming to my eyes. How could I do this? How could I leave her? But I couldn't turn back now, I was in too deep. But for some reason, I turned around, and I saw her on the shore crying, but she had wings. She was in her form given to her by lady Irene. My breath caught, and I stopped swimming. She was the last thing I saw before I blacked out.

Aphmau's POV
I woke up, and saw that Aaron wasn't in the tree house. There was a note stuck to the trunk of the tree, so I got up, stretched, and read it.
Dear Aphmau,
I'm sorry, but I can't stay with the three of you any longer. I'm leaving, but don't follow me, I need to be alone. Take care of Lilith, and make sure she doesn't miss me too much.
-Aaron
No... He can't, I need, we need him to stay, he has to be here, I NEED HIM TO STAY! I DONT THINK I CAN, I don't think I can make it without him, I need him to keep going... I need to stop him. I ran through the charred forest, to the ruins of the dock, and I saw him in the water, swimming away. "Wait!" I called, "Please, wait! Don't go, I'm sorry for whatever I did, but you have to tell me! I'll make it up to you, I promise!" I fell to my knees, and began to sob. I saw a flash of light, and felt my wings. I cried, and I cried, and I cried. I liked up, and I saw him sinking, his body limp. "Aaron!" I screams, running to him, shocked by the fact that I could walk on the water, but completely ignoring it. Once I reached where he was, I dove into the water, begging him not to be gone. I carried him to the shore, and I rushed to the tree. "Please don't leave me Aaron," I murmured, tears stinging in my eyes.
