Malorie and I were always there for each other. No matter what, she'd be there for me, and I'd be there for her. We met in preschool. I ran up to her and said, "Hi! I'm Myah. Let's be friends." "My mommy doesn't let me talk to strangers," she replied. "My mommy says,'" the stranger, the better,'" so let's go!" I grabbed her arm and yanked her over to the bathroom. "Let me see your belly button," she said. "Why?" "Because mommy says that if you wanna be friends with someone, you have to share weird secrets," she answered. "Okay. Let's do it! One...two...four...." "You skipped three," she said, interrupting my belly button count off. "What's three?" I said. "It's the thing that comes after two." Even as a preschooler, she was, and still is, the smartest person I've ever known.
"Okay, let's start again," I said. We showed each other our mutual outies and instantly became inseparable.
