Chapter Nine: Kiss Up

I sighed as we got out of the car at Liv's house and Riley walked me to my car while Toby walked Liv up to the door.

"Text or call me after you talk to your parents okay? And uh...when you get home safe?" He asked, holding my hands still and I blushed a little and nodded.

"I'd really like if you could join us. . .it gets boring with the same people all the time." He smiled and I laughed.

"I'll try my best."

"Good." He smiled and I stretched up on my toes to wrap my arms around his neck and hug him, he hugged me tightly around the waist before letting go and opening my car door for me, I blushed a little and turned to wave to Liv. She smiled and waved back before closing her door and Toby started walking down her driveway.

"Bye Toby." I smiled and he laughed.

"Bye Alexis." I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Don't start McDonough." I said and Riley laughed, before kissing my cheek, I climbed in and he shut my door for me and took a step back.

"I'll text you." He said, leaning in through my window a little, keeping one hand on the roof of my car and I laughed.

"Bye Riley." I said as Toby came and started to pull him away and I left before he could keep me any longer, looking back in my rear-view mirror to see him watching me as Toby tried to force him into the front of the car.

Once home I saw my dad was already home from work.

"Hi daddy, how was work?" I asked innocently, going and sitting on the arm of the couch. He sighed.

"Hot." I nodded.

"I'm sorry." He gave me one look and sighed before hesitating.

"What do you want?" Just then I heard the door open and my mom came in.

"Come on. We're running late."

"For what?"

"Dinner at grandma's." I sighed.

"Right. About that. So I was wondering."

"And coming up next, do the youngest of the McDonough brothers officially have girlfriends? Listen up close ladies, coming up next a story on Before You Exit." The news lady on our tv said, showing a picture of me and Riley walking out of the theater holding hands and Toby and Liv walking out beside us, also hand in hand. My parents both turned to look at me and I coughed.

"Heh. . .about that."

"Thats what you were doing today?" My mom asked. "You said you were out with Liv."

"Well technically I was. . .we just had two tag alongs." I blushed and she gave me a look.

"Two famous tag alongs that you're hopelessly in love with and for some reason aren't freaking out about. . .spill it Alexis."

"Okay well last night we got to meet Before You Exit after the concert and apparently Toby liked Liv so he talked to me about it and told me to give her a piece of paper, it turned out that paper was his number, and Ri did the same to Liv, who knew right? Well then after much procrastinating we finally called them and they asked us on a date then this morning they texted us when they would pick us up and what not and so we went to mini golf then to the movies then had ice cream then they had to check in with Keith; their manager and he showed us the magazines we were on and at first he seemed upset but then he got excited and he thinks we would be good publicity for them and he wants us to join them on tour for the rest of the summer and I already know you're gonna say no but please please pleaaaassssseee?!" I explained it all then started begging at the end all in one quick breath and my dad easily lost what I was saying, my mom however was used to my fast talking and kept up easily. She sighed.

"I don't think so Aly, touring with a bunch of teenage boys?" That my dad got. He sat up quickly.

"It's not a bunch of teenage boys. . .its five. . .and Connor's almost twenty! And there will be plenty of adults there! Like Keith! Keith would never let anything happen! Neither would Matt! And there will always be plenty of security so we'll be safe! And Liv's going too! Mom this is a Once in a life time chance! I get to tour the country with singers I love and I get to see places I've never seen please?!" She sighed again.

"When do you have to know by?" I coughed awkwardly.

"Oh uhm. About that. You see. . .they leave for L.A. in about five hours."

"What?! Thats awful short notice Alexis Carter." She said and I sighed.

"I know I know but please?!" She sighed again.

"I'll think about it."

"Doesn't matter. I say no." My dad said.

"Daddy." I whined. "Liv is going."

"Her parents already said yes?" My mom asked and I bit my lip.

"Well. . .not yet. . .but they will!" She sighed.

"Come on. I'll think about it, go get your brother."
