Where am I? I look at the sky, it's cloudy and grey. It looks like there was no existence of the Sun. The air smells dirty. The streets are littered with paper, and trash. There are pieces of asphalt missing from the street. Power lines are down, and on top of houses. Quiet shuffling goes on behind me. Startled I turn around to see a man hunched over, and shuffling towards me. He's wearing casual clothes, jeans, and what used to be a red t-shirt.
"Excuse me sir?" He stopped and looked up. I could see his face more clearly, but I wish I hadn't.His eyes are cloudy grey, and white. His black hair was matted and dirty with missing patches, his skin pale with nasty boils. But the worst part was that there was a hole in his left cheek. My stomach dropped and I slowly started to back away.
"Are y-you okay?" I asked more scared he growled then screeched an ear rattling screech, his mouth was so wide I can see inside his mouth, his teeth were black, and red with strings of saliva connecting from top to bottom. I can see the light coming from the hole in his cheek. He tried to grab me, but I stepped back. He stumbled forward and screeched again. This time he lunged at me I dodged him again and ran in the opposite direction, he chased after me.Street after street. Block after block. It feels like I've been running for miles. My feet, pounding the floor with every step, my lungs about to give out, my heart pumping, adrenaline, flowing. Suddenly the floor beneath me gave out.
I was now falling down a dark hole, what felt an eternity. I tried to grasp for anything before I hit the floor an probably die.I finally hit the ground hard. I kept my eyes shut at the pain of my back. The fall knocked the wind out of me. I propped myself up on my right elbow against the stone floor and started to cough violently trying to regain my breath. I looked around it was almost completely dark the only source of light came from where I fell, but even that wasn't enough. I felt something touch my arm. Immediately I opened my eyes, then my leg then my stomach. There are thousands of people, adults and children with those grey eyes clawing at my body. They started to take chunks of my skin off. I screamed in pain as they went to my innards. I kicked and fought but was greatly outnumbered. Scared, trapped and alone the only thing I could do is cry.
"Wake up, wake up!" I hear a voice say. Who ever was yelling at me sounded worried. My eyes shot open. I was on the floor tangled in blankets, sweating with tears in my eyes. In front of me was my best friend Rey smiling with relief on her face.
" Rey!" I exclaimed and tightly hugged her not wanting to let go.
"Woah," she said gently patting my back. "You never hug me like this, never. Are you okay? What happened?" I sat up and wiped my face with the blanket that was on the floor.
"I had this really realistic nightmare." I said the image of the man in red flashing through my mind.
"Well what was it about? I came in here and you were tossing and turning on the floor I was worried and tried to wake you up." Rey helped me off the floor and guided me to my closet.
" Well I don't remember exact where I was but I remember the street was littered with trash and houses were destroyed and the sky was so grey." I looked down trying to remember everything that happened. "The I heard something behind me so I turned around and saw this man."
"What did he look like? Was he someone familiar?" Asked Rey.
"I don't think I knew him. He was hunched over so I don't know if he was tall or short. His skin color was... Well grayish like he hadn't been in the sun before. His hair was crazy and dirty, but the part that scared me the most was the giant hole in his cheek it was so big you could probably put a tennis ball in it."
"Then what happened?" Rey ended up sitting on my bed listening as if I was telling her a campfire story.
"He chased me."
"What?" Rey said gripping the sheets on my bed.
"Yeah. I ran away as far I could. It felt so life like, it ft as if I was actually running."
"Did you see any street signs or anything that might of given you any clue to where you were?"
"Um no not that I could remember." I said trying to recall any signs or shop names. "Every thing was blurred. Anyways I was running then all of a sudden I fell down this deep, dark hole that went on for a really long time. Then people that looked like the guy in the beginning started to rip up my body."
"Wow that's a scary dream. Do you think it means something." She got up and pulled the blankets off the floor and began to make my bed. I walked over to help.
"I don't know. It's probably from drinking chocolate milk before bed." I smiled and Rey laughed.
"But you know," Rey commented changing form happy to serious. "Dreams can sometimes have powerful meanings o-or even tell the future."
"Yeah I wonder what this dream could be telling me." I laughed and thought a little bit of what it could mean.
"Maybe the world will end."
