My mom and dad knocked at the door. I sighed, I had to face them sometime soon...
"Abs..C'mon..Please.." My dad said softly. I stood up and made sure there were no tears left on my face. I opened the door slowly to my parents guilty gaze.
"Abalinda..Dear, may we come in?" My mom said quietly with her hand on my dad's. I nodded and stepped back, pulling the door further open; it squeeked gently. Moving over to my bed, my mother sat down, with my dad's hand on her shoulder while I closed the door then stood silently.
"Abalinda, you have to understand that we done this for your protection. To prevent things..People..Coming.. What was this person's name that spoke to you, told you?" My dad asked curiously.
"His name was Blake.." My voice broke in the middle of saying his name and I sounded very croaky- they would probably be able to tell I had been crying. My father's eye brow's pulled together.
"I don't know him..How old was he?"
"A-about my age..He had black hair and green eyes.." My mother glanced up to my father "What?" My father sighed, pushing a hand through his hair.
"You are atracted to him, aren't you, Abalinda?.." My mother said quietly, knowingly..
"I- I don't know. I don't even know who he is!" I was starting to get frustrated now.
"Calm down, Abalinda.." My father mumbled.
"Why? Why should I? Today a random asshole came along and said I wasn't human, then, when I get home my own parents admit that they have been lying to me my whole life?!"
"Abalinda. Calm it. Now." He demanded.
"No! I've been living a lie, because of you two. If you even are my real parents that is." As soon as it had came out, I knew I shouldn't have said it- but they pushed me.
"Abalinda, you have to calm down if you don't want to turn.." It was the first time that my mother had spoke for ages.
"Why shouldn't I 'turn'? What if I want to? Hm?"
There was silence.
My father left my mother's side and stood in front of me.
"If you change then they will find you and kill you. Me and your mother would probably end up dying, trying to protect you. And then you will be alone. Without guidence or help or anything." He said calmly. I regreted what I had said.
"I-..I'm sorry, daddy..I didn't mean it..But, I don't want to be something I'm not.." I said quietly then I hugged him.
"I understand, Abs, but..You have to be careful..Okay? We will be by your side, but we can't protect you much..We aren't strong enough.." He said, hugging me back. I felt like I couldn't trust them. I wanted to talk to someone who understood. I sighed then moved towards the door.
"I need some air.." I said quietly, hoping they wouldn't realise that I was lying.
"Okay, be careful." My mom said with her eye brows pulled together. I shut the door then I ran down the stairs and out of the house as fast as I could, the tears already rolling down my cheeks again. I needed to find him- Blake. He might be able to tell me something else because until that moment, my parents had fed me pretty much a load of bullshit for most of my life.
