Chapter 5

Lacey

"What are you doing here?" He asked standing up and walking over to me.

"I had some help..." I smiled and sat down on the free seat in front of him.

"Oh?" he mimicked.

He leaned against the desk and crossed his arms. "What do you need? Money? What? name your price..." He said throwing up his hands.

I chuckled and crossed my legs and looked at him. "Money can't give me what I want--" I started.

"You want revenge..." he finished assuming.

I smiled dryly and got up. "Let's not skip to that should we..."

He sighed annoyed.

"Well it was nice talking to you..." I said before turning away and walking out the door.

I wasn't going to get it just yet, I wasn't that stupid, it was crazy because he knew what I wanted now.

I was positive that it'll come when he was least expecting it.

Zaciella

Dinner was weird, Mom and dad was pretty quiet. They kept clearing their throats and coughing.

"So dad, how is the business going?" I asked making conversation.

He cleared his throat and looked up at me.

"Good sweetheart, it's going very well..." he replied putting a carrot in his mouth.

I nodded and looked over to Damian, he was picking at his food and shaking his head.

"What's wrong?" I whispered to him and he slightly jumped.

"Uhh... I'm just thinking..." he said after clearing his throat.

"If you want some air, you're more than welcomed to step outside..." I offered smiling.

I haven't known him long enough, but I damned sure knew when something was wrong.

"Thanks..." he said scooting back his chair.

He tapped my shoulder. "Will you come out with me?"

"Sure..." I replied smiling.

"He needs air and I'm going to go with him..." I announced.

"You're excused..." my mom said smiling sweetly but it looked forced.

I got up from the table and we went onto the porch. I went down one stair and leaned against the railing, It was a little cold out so I crossed my arms rubbing them repeatedly.

"Can I tell you something..." he finally said breaking the silence.

"Yeah sure..." I slightly chattered.

He looked at me, then the stairs and sat down and sighed. "I feel very uncomfortable around your family..." he confessed looking down at a stair.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because--" he said trailing off.

I sighed and sat next to him. "You can tell me..." I said and nudged him.

"Do you know anything about your moms past?" he asked suddenly.

I shook my head no. "Why would you ask that?" I said and chuckled.

He looked at me with serious eyes. "Well, before I tell you my problem, I have a feeling you need to know before you get eighteen." he simply said.

I starred at him blankly, my mom never told me about her past or my dad. But why? And what did it have to do with me?

Zaniel

I was uneasy about Zaci hanging around Damian, this was Daniels chance on getting her more easily, I knew it and Maxine knew it.

"I can't do this!" she said and stood up.

"Do what?" I asked confused

"Watch her become friends with that monsters son!" She yelled walking over to the door.

I went after her. "Maxine! Maybe he's a good kid..." I yelled grabbing her arm.

"I don't--" she started.

"Maxine, she's alright..." I said soothing her.

She sighed and went to sit on the couch. "I just... Don't want her reliving our past..." confessed shaking away her tears that rapidly fell from her eyes.

"I don't either, but we can't stop her from living hers, and soon enough she's going to find out..."

She sighed in defeat. "I know..." she confessed standing up. I grabbed her arm and embraced her into my arms. Her head laid on my chest as she cried softly.

I knew that Daniel got Damian into this without his say so, I just knew he did.

Damian is a sweet kid, this was no act.

I could see his kindness in his eyes, I knew Daniel hated it because he was so cold hearted. I knew something bad was going to occur on us, I just had that sad feeling all I  could do was just sit and wait.

Hey! Do you like it.? I spent my whole morning and afternoon on this one. Do you think Damian is a true sweetheart inside or is he just playing the role? Zaci is shocked and wants to actually know about her mom and dads past. What do you think her reaction would be?
