Lucas's pov;

-

"Ashton?" I stutter, astounded.

"Your brother." Brynn remarks with a hint of sass. She's quite the sassy one.

"I'm not fucking stupid, why would he want to date somebody like you?"

She smirks, "Oh Lucas, he asked me out."

What?

-

Mackenzie's point of view;

-

All this confusion is too much for me. I'm still trying to puzzle out why Lucas and I always end up locking lips after we study. Now Ashton asking Brynn out? For one thing, Ashton is a Senior and we're Sophmores. What would a high and mighty Senior want with a Sophomore? He must want sex or something, because that's about all Brynn is good for when it comes to relationships.

"I'm just going to leave." I say, packing my stuff and heading towards the door. Brynn stops me.

"Trying to walk away from your problems again? Haven't you learned that ever works?" She snarls, leaving a sly smile across her face.

"Can I just go?"

"No, face your problems."

I roll my eyes and turn around to face Lucas. He's my problem. I really love him, but he hurt me. I really want to just run back into his arms and call him mine again, but it's not that simple. He has to pay for what he did.

"I'm your problem?" Lucas asks, with a look or sorrow.

"Yes." I speak clearly, then turn back to Brynn, "Can I leave now?"

"No, tell him why he's your problem."

I sigh and rotate to Lucas, "Because I love you."
I then turn around and run out of the room. I felt my cheeks reddening and my eyes get hot. It felt as if everything was in slow motion.

-

Lucas's point of view;

-

"Wow." I say, I didn't know what else to say honestly. Mackenzie just admitted that she still loved me. I thought that would never happen again. I thought I would never hear those three words,  those eight letters come out of her mouth again.

"I'm proud of Mackenzie, finally facing her issues. She wouldn't do well without me. I just wish she'd open her eyes." Brynn says, with a look of sorrow. As if she was about to cry.

"Look Brynn, the end to your guy's friendship was kinda your fault."

Brynn glares at me, then her face lightens. "I guess you're right."

I smirk and Ashton walks in.
"Sup pipsqueak, hey babe."

I roll my eyes as his and Brynn's hands intertwine. "Alright bye now." I say abruptly, to put an end to the awkwardness.

"Bye Lucas." Brynn smirks, closing the door.

"Bye"
