Dinner with the Jones

Later that night...

Hi. I'm back from Emma's new house and the dinner did not go as planned.

I wore a nice blue button down with my boots and my hair gelled. Snow wore a lavender short sleeved dress with regular sock stockings and white shoes with a little heel. She looked so pretty. And Neal wore baby clothes. We made sure to bring a few milk bottles.

We drove in my work truck to Emma's house. We had all been there before at Emma's house welcoming party. We brought scented candles and a wine bottle for Emma and Hook as a "thank you for inviting us over"gift. Snow's idea. When we rang the doorbell Henry opened it, which surprised me because I thought Emma was gonna open it herself. But I couldn't let that bother me. I did not want to ruin the night. As I walked into the dinning room, I heard Emma say from a different room "...it'll be fine, Killian, I promise he won't get mad. "

"I sure hope you're right, love" Then kissing noises. It made me bite the inside of my cheek.

In the dinning room, we all said hello and I gave them their present and we all sat down. First, we got our drinks(wine for the adults and soda for Henry and for baby Neal milk) and we had a nice dinner of chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes and salad and then a little after that they brought out banana pudding(we gave a small amount to Neal). Sometimes as Emma and Hook got up to get the food they would stop and just look in each others eyes. Henry, being a teenager, rolled his eyes. I would clear my throat and they would snap back into reality.

We talked about a number of things. Like Emma said she might want to start a family with Hook. When she said that I tensed up, and Snow put her hand on my forearm and shot me a look that said "Not here" so I just let it go over my head. I also brought up Henry's friend Violet. He blushed and said,"What? Um-No. We're j-just friends." Then hook just had to respond. "Well you and your lady friend are certainly close, my boy. You talk to her everyday after school"
"You talk to Robin everyday and you guys go to the RabbitHole every weekend. That's just being a good friend," Henry snapped at him. Emma shot both of them a look and whispered to Hook,"We're gonna talk after this."

After dinner Emma stood up and said," Well, Killian made us all dessert, didn't you honey?"
"As a matter a fact I did, but of course with your help, Swan" he said winking at her.
He left the room and came back with a napkin covered pie. The sweet-smelling pastry made the room smell nice. He made it a big deal to place it in front of Snow and Henry(who were sitting across from each other). He then lifted the napkin and said," Everybody please enjoy this delicious apple pie.
As soon as he said apple, a flourished face came over Snow.
I stood up."WHAT!? APPLE PIE! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?"
Everyone was startled at my sudden screaming.
"No, David isn't fine really. It doesn't bother me. I bet it taste wonderful."
"You got a problem with my baking, Mate!?"
"I'm not your 'mate', Mate!"
"Both of you stop screaming and sit down!" Emma said, silencing both of us." I just wanted to have a nice, peaceful dinner with my family and you had to go and ruin it!" She had tears in her eyes and I felt bad and sat back down. Hook, who was also standing, sat down.
"Listen, Emma I'm sorry. I didn't mean-"
"No, I don't wanna hear, Dad. I-I think you should go."She left the table and went out of the room.
The way home Snow and I didn't talk at all. She didn't let me drive, either.
At home she said she was upset and that I didn't need to go make everything a big deal. She went into our room, closed the door on me, and opened it in her pjs, with Neal in one hand and blanket and a pillow in the other." You can sleep on the couch until you think you can act like an adult." She handed me the pillow and the blanket and closed the door again.
"Snow..... Snow, come on I'm sorry...... G-Goodnight." Still no response.
So here I am, sleeping on the couch, writing in my journal.😔 I hope everything's better in the morning.
