Uggggggg my finger!!
(Claire's POV)
Arthur lead me down the hall to a part of our base I had never been to. Something told me I'd know this place very well in the future. Arthur stopped at a door labeled Bricksha's Office and gave it a light tap.
"Come in," someone grumbled on the other side. It sounded like a young man. Arthur opened the door and I was met with the smell of cigar smoke and lavender. Arthut stepped into the room, as if he didn't smell it at all, and I hesitantly followed. The room was surprisingly clean, a bookshelf with lots of books sat to the right, a cabinet was to the left, and in the middle was a desk with a blonde haired, sky blue eyed man. He wore a generals uniform, which was deep blue, and broadsword was on his back.
"Ah, Arthur. I didn't expect you to come back so soon. And this is Claire I assume," said the man standing.
"You assume right sir," Arthur said shakily. The general didn't notice his voice.
"Claire, I don't believe we've met personally before. I'm General Rubin Bricksha, the General of Squads 1-20," he held out his hand.
"I'm Claire. I don't have a last name. Its a pleasure to meet you sir," I said shaking his hand.
"Now that the formalities are out of the way," he said sitting down.
"Lets get down to business." He motioned for both of us to sit. We sat down in silence.
"Claire," he started by addressing me.
"I've already asked Arthur, but do you speak with your weapon?" He started with a easy question.
"Yes sir. I do speak with him."
"Him? The weapon has a gender?"
"Well... Not really but he looks like a boy."
Are you a boy Erebus?
"You've seen him too?" I nodded.
"Hm.... Interesting. I have a few more questions. First, what is your weapons name?"
"Erebus."
"Second, what does the demon look like?"
"He looks about my age with white hair and forest green eyes."
"Ok, finally, what is his personality?"
I went into thought for a moment before responding.
"Well.... He's mysterious, but kind and helpful. Thats the best I can describe him." Bricksha nodded and dismissed both Arthur and I without another word. We closed the door and walked back to our rooms in silence. When I got to my room, I was about to open the door when Arthur asked,
"Is your weapon really kind and helpful?" I nodded. He sighed and went into his room. He seemed sad.
I went into my room and plopped down on the bed. I pulled Erebus up above my head and just stared.
You made this sword right Erebus?
"Why do you ask?" Erebus asked in my head quietly.
Well, I think I remember Angel or someone saying that the demons made their own weapons. We're most of you trying to possess weapons?
"Most of us yes. I was one of them. But the humans put me in my own weapon. I wasn't successful in possessing my weapon." He went silent.
Whats wrong?
"Claire, if you had to make a hard choice, a choice that would affect you badly for the rest of your life, and save your loved one, would you take it?" He turned serious and it caught me off guard.
Why do you ask that?
"Just curious."
Well.... Yes and no. It depends on what the consequences are.
"You are trapped forever in pain and you save the one you love from that pain and suffering." He responded fast.
... Yes. I would do that so fast. I don't want anyone to go through pain they don't deserve.
"But what if you don't deserve the pain either?"
Then I'll gladly take it for them.
He went silent again, and stopped asking questions altogether. I started to wonder why he asked those questions as I fell asleep.(Morning)
I woke up and did my morning routine, eating, changing into my training clothes, grabbing Erebus and heading out the door. But today was different, because as I stepped out the door, I was met with the smell of cigar smoke and lavender.
"Oh, good morning General. I wasn't expecting you to be outside my door. Can I help you?" I said, putting on a smile. He smiled back.
"Actually, I came to get you. I want you and Sadie to train with me today," he said cheerily.
"Oh? Has Arthur been notified?" He nodded.
"Alright then, sure," I said before he walked off in the direction of the exit. I hurriedly followed his brisk pace to the exit, where there were three other people, one of which was Sadie. When she saw me, she excitedly ran up to me.
"Hi Claire! I'm so glad you're here," she said before turning around to check if anyone was listening.
"These people seem weird," she whispered quietly. I nodded in agreement. The two other people were indeed weird. One was a boy, who had brown hair and pricing green eyes, and the other was also a boy, with blonde hair and deep blue eyes.
"Alright, now that everyone is here, we can begin," said Bricksha, slinging both arms around the two boys.
"Lets start by introducing you guys. Girls, this is Vylad and Garroth. Guys this is Claire and Sadie. Treat them well." The two nodded, apparently annoyed by Bricksha's presence, and we all followed him outside. Today it was bright with a few clouds here and there, and there was a slight wind that blew cold air past my hair, making it fly up slightly.
"Ok, let's first see if you can activate your weapon. Garroth, you first." The blonde nodded and pulled out a blue sword. He whispered something quietly and a blue spiral appeared on his face.
"Good. Next is Vylad." The brunette did the same with a pair of twin knives and had a green spiral.
"Nice. Now Sadie." The girl nodded, slightly confused, but pulled out her scythe. The boys were startled at this and gave her a confused look. She ignored it and muttered something as well. A black mark appeared on her face and she looks up at Bricksha curiously.
"Very good Sadie. Finally, Claire." I nodded, a little nervous. I pulled Erebus from his sheath and whispered his name. I felt a slight tingle across my face and Bricksha nodded.
"Very nice. Now let's start."Ok so it turns out I jammed my finger, badly. So bad that the pressure made it bend.
