That was the day I knew I would have to train hard. It was for one purpose at first; avenging my sister's death. But, I feel like Spirit and I both wanted to become the strongest warriors for some, other reason... I couldn't recall. I might have lost some memory since I ended up having to be healed by a willing non-clan cat. I had left my small group, for I feared that Deathstar would follow me to my den. I lived alone. I learned, failed, and grew stronger, until I became an average warrior. I was then caught hunting down a rabbit in a section of the forest when I somehow crashed right into a clan cat.
I was lucky that PrismShine didn't mind, and I was also thankful that he didn't kill me. I don't understand how I didn't smell him coming, or vice versa. But, that was the day I joined Earthclan.
I woke up. I had drowned in my thoughts and my past, that I had fallen asleep.
I looked around, realizing where I was, what had happened, and also remembering that I decided to sit down in the middle of the open and sleep like some sort of idiot.
Well, time to struggle back to that tree, I guess..
Heavy Panting could be heard in the distance.
I was weak, couldn't stand, and now I was about to die. Great.
Something still clung in the air, a familiar smell, that was fresh..
I couldn't exactly tell if I was smelling correctly, since my nose had an ugly scar across it, and it also crossed over my mouth, somehow leaving a small scratch on my tongue. That part, I did not understand, at all.
I thought, searching though my memory files, for this scent had to somehow be recognized.
Then it hit me. The scent was PrismStar!
I looked around, searching for the stronger growing scent, and found other scents of the clan following and blowing in the wind.
The clan, some survived!
I was happily thinking. Then, accompanied, came the smell of fresh-kill. For the first time that.. now, sun high, I realized how hungry I was. I found new energy and strength, and, although unsteadily, stood and paced myself towards their scent.
As I neared, they had also picked up my scent, with the sudden change in the direction of the breeze. After a few seconds, I heard a quick, and rhythmic padding noise against the soft, red colored soil.
That wasn't the only time I felt like fish bait.
As soon as they saw me, PrismStar and BrushStroke nearly flew to me, taking no time to drop their prey. I heard several weird noises that were held back by the large clumps of meat occupying their mouths. I could still tell they were glad to see me.
PrismStar was the first to decide to actually try to talk to me.
He lowered the crow he had stuffed in his mouth, and he started, but sneezed at the flying feathers. After, he started again, "ArtStar! How did you end up here? Weren't you in the nurse's den?" I saw that the other cats, including the nurse cat, wanted to know that too.
"Uhhhhhh.... I crawled my way out, fell asleep, and heard you guys coming so stood up?" I gave them an honest reply.
I took the slight pause to look over my remaining clan. I didn't like the sight. All of the cats were torn and injured, and not many were left. I did a head count
PrismStar, ArtStroke, LotusWing...
Only seven other cats remained alive from the clan, besides me.
Two being kits, three being warriors one a nurse, and the last, the deputy.
I had faith and hoped, that the clan would have somehow mostly survived, but only seven out of twenty-nine survived. The rest must have died during the fight.. Or had they?
By now, I wore a concerned face, my eyes looking somewhere far away.
My thoughts must have wandered too far, since by the time u snapped back to the painful present reality, a fresh kill pile had been laud in front of me.
I blinked in surprise. I shifted the angle of my ears and head until I caught the sound of the others.
"Heeeeeeeyyy- your finally awaaaake-"
I gave out a yelp and jumped in surprise. I spun my head around to me left, and found PrismStar grinning with a wild expression. I gave him a face that said, really?, but we both knew it was a lot more funnier than it should have been. He laughed and backed away.
"Well, work those legs, the leader can't just sit around on the middle of an attack, like mine" He teased, in between chuckles.
I grunted. And what is it that he does all day?
Remembering the shadow clan, a strange feeling came over me. It was dark, and eerie. The feeling seemed to take grasp of my mind so suddenly, I was thrown into deep thought.
The spirits of the dead shadow clan warriors lingered here. They seeked revenge. They would have the shadow clan come back and hunt us down, until they had our skins. I shuddered at the thought. The spirits cannot leave their deathplaces, but we can. The shadow clan will have to track us down.
But where to go?
The shadow clan iz devouring all of the forest, so Spirit's ought to linger everywhere. The other clans have too much to fight for, and are probably not in the welcoming mood.
Skyclan!
Skyclan had agreed to aid us, and provide Refuge if anything were to happen to our clan. It was risky, flying into the air, and be in the clear sky, but it would provide shelter until we figured out where to go.
I attempted to stand once more, and this time, I was able to, although barely. I carefully reached stone after stone, until I reached high rock.
Although my throat was still scratchy, I shouted the traditional gathering call, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the high rock for a clan meeting..."
I called them to discuss. I was prepared to discuss. What we were going to do. Where we were going. Why we were going. Before time traps us here, we had to form a plan out. Right now.
