lightning

lightning struck
time stopped
and I stood there
in awe inspired terror
wonderstruck I guess you could say?
hand shaking
I reached out
I had to touch
had to know what it felt like
needed to experience
it didn't seem to matter to me
that it might actually hurt
in fact
I believe my last thought was
that I wouldn't mind
being destroyed by
something so chaotically beautiful
