A Lost Love, A New Heart

chapter one

Sars pov

" Why are you not with your mate from last season ". I don't want to go in to the death of my mate.

" She died ". She look's at the window and then she get's up and walk's to the window.  " My mate also died last year which is why I'm here ".

Well it look's like we are both in the same boat. We have both lost our mate's and now we are being forced together. Only time will tell if this will work out.

I walk her back to council chamber's where her Father and my council are waiting for us.

" Ah you are back, we are ready to leave you will return in three day's to live with Sars ". She nod's and look's down.

" Would it be possible for Kali to stay tonight so we can talk more ". He Father and the council agree to let us have the night together.

We leave the chamber's together and we head back to my house, we I am going to try and get her to talk.

Kali's pov

I wonder why Sar's want's me to stay here tonight, I will ask him if my courage allow's it.

We walk to his house and he let's us in and we go to his lounge where he clear's some paper's off the sofa so I can sit down.

He then leave's the room saying he will only be a moment. I look around all the picture's. I see one of him and a girl with long black hair.

" That was my mate Ivy ". Moving away from the picture and trying to look out the window anything to distract me from the picture of his mate.

I want to ask him question's but, it seem's hard to do. I feel myself, feeling really shy around him. At home I know everyone and the feeling is comfortable.

" You can ask me anything you want, I just thought we could use this time to get to know each other ". I nod and look out the window and see nothing look's like home.

I need to go home where I know its safe and, I'm comfortable. To do this I need to speak to him but, now I'm not so sure.

Sar's pov

Now I have her alone again she seem's to have clamed up on me again. She also look's uncomfortable here.

I found her looking at the picture of Ivy my lost mate. I lost her a year ago but it feel's like month's not a year.

I tell Keli who it is and she walk's to the window and look's outside. That's when I noticed the uneaseness of her she seem's unhappy and lost.

" Keli why don't we sit here on the sofa and talk for a bit ". She look's to the sofa and then to me. She nod's and then join's me on the sofa.

Looking at my drink. " How did your mate die " She gasp's before saying. " I I I can't say, sorry ". I nod my head.

" Was it resently tht he died ". She nod's and I can see tear's in her eye's. " Yes he died eight month's ago ". So why is her Father mating her of so soon.

" Why are you being asked to mate with me ". She look's so sad and so alone. " My father want's to expand our hunting ground and your council agreed ".

Yes they would, it would also mean more hunting ground for us and more patrol's on guard at all time's.

So when the hunting season come's around again we will be better covered and no one will be killed this time.

Should of thought of that when my mate Ivy was still alive, but then again we wouldn't be able to mate and breed with the other reservation.

I will show Keli to the guest bedroom, shortly so she can rest. " Keli would you like to go for a run before. I show you to the guest room ". She nod's and we go outside.

With a flick of our wrist our clothes disappear and we shift in to our wolf form and take off running around the tree in our woodland. She seem's happy and free like this.

Maybe she would talk more in this form rather than in human form. " Keli you like this form better ". She stop's running and look's at me.

" Yes I feel more alive in this our true form ". I smile and nod my muzzle toward's the open field. She growl's and then take's of running. I follow behind her.

We run and enjoy the freedom and we even talk a little. We are now outside the back door of my house. I shift back to human form before flicking my wrist and I'm clothed again.

Keli does the same and we go in to the house and I show her to her room for the night. I bow and leave her shut the door behind me. I enter my room and lie on the bed.

Damn this is going to hard to try and mate with a girl, I have just met and our mating season begin's in three week's.
