“June!” Nikki came running into my room. Her white dress was short, but elegent. I would give her much. “You look amazing!”

“Thanks. Nikki, your looking very cute tonight too.” I hugged her, our usual thing. She was like the sister I always wanted. We have been friends since babies, and there was no going back after that.

“It took forever to find a dress like this. So, when are you coming down?” she looked out the door, seeing all the party go-ers downstaris.

“Soon.” I placed my mask on. The gold made the whole outfit. Everything was ready.

“Oh my goodness! I’m so jealous of you right now. My little girl had turned into a beautiful women!” She started to fake cry.

“I’ll give you something to cry about if you don’t stop that.” I nudged her shoulder.

“So much violence from you.” she got back up and stood behind me. “But I really do love the way you look.”

“Nikki, its just a dress.” we both laughed. “Besides, this is a one night thing. I wanted it to be amazing.”

“It will be. And there are a lot of people down there. Just waiting for you.” she did a full turn in the mirror and posed for a picture. But no camera was around.

“Alright. I will be right down.” I nervously adjusted my dress.

“Great! I will meet you downstairs.” another short hug and she was out the door. I gave her a few minutes to get downstairs, and chat with someone. I took a deep breath, and opened the door. My song was playing, and I made my apperence. My dad walked my down the stairs, though it was all for him, not for me. I was just a good show piece.

Finally we reached the botten and everyone cheered. I felt my cheeks warm up, glad the mask would hide most of it. I grabbed the mic nearest to me.

“Alright everyone! Lets have some fun!” and with that, the music became loud and everyone was dancing. The blue lighting made everyone’s outfit’s glow. It was a great effect. I was able to find Nikki, just by looking down toward the floor. She was showing the most leg.

“Hey girls!” I butty bumped Nikki who almost fell over.

“Great party!” She grabbed me and pulled me into my group of friends.

“The night is still young.” and with that, all talking turned to laughing and dancing. I could’ve done this for hours. I got to see everyone I wanted to, and a group of people I didn’t know, but I was glad they looked like they were having fun. My paretns talked to the chief of police, making sure they kept their persence known. My spot was always shared by them. That’s the way it was going to be.

“Alright! Everyone off the dance floor!” The DJ shouted in to the mic. “It’s time for our lady to have a spot light dance.” he smiled at me. “Anyone who wants to dance with her, stand up now.” the slow music began to flow threw the speakers. I stood in the middle of the dance floor, waiting. If no one came to dance with me, it was going to be akward.

Suddenly, from behind, someone palced their hands on my waist. I spun to look into a black mask, but the green eyes couldn’t be missed. He grabbed my hand and still held my waist, then gracefully lead me around the floor. His blond hair looked almost white in the blue light, and his grip was stong and sure. As if he knew what he was doing at all times. His eyes never left mine. A pair a gorgeous green eyes. With so much depth I could get lost in them.

“I’m sorry if im being rude, but I cant place your face. Do I know you?” I talked low enough so that he only heard.

“No. But how could anyone leave such a gorgeous lady out on the dance floor alone.” his voice was silky smooth. More then enough to get my heart racing.

“Well, who ever said chiveraly was dead, was surely wrong.” I smiled and kissed him lightly on the cheek.

“Indeed.” though I couldn’t be sure, I could have sworn he blushed.

I was taken back, that was for sure. This beautiful desert flower had just kissed my cheek. I didn’t even know who she was, and yet she kissed my cheek. She was more beautiful then anyone here, or anyone I had ever seen. Who could just leave her to dance alone? Surely not I.

The music had become soft, slowing to stop, and more loud music came beating through the speakers. But we still danced slowly. She didn’t want to stop and I wasn’t going to either. She had such an effect on me, where I couldn’t see anyone else in the room, or hear what anyone was saying. She was like a muse to me.

“So, I would have to take a stab in the dark and say it was your birthday. Am I close?” I gave her a charming smile, and got a satisfying blush to rise in her cheeks.

“Yes. Good guess.” her laugh was angelic. “ I just turned seventeen today.”

“Well, you sure do know how to through a wonderful party. Though, between you and me, I wasn’t on the guest list.” I pulled her closely.

“That’s quite alright by me. Glad to hear your having fun.” I felt her heart skip a beat through her dress. Which reminded me.

“I must say, that dress is very beautiful on you.” there was no doubt that sounded lame.

“Well, thank you.” her smile was breathtaking.

“Do you think it would be allowed if I got you name?” we had stopped dancing now, but still stood close.

“Of course. I’m-” and she was caught off by Mike rudely interrupting us.

“Rob, we must be going. Someone has found out about the party crashers.” he pulled at me.

“Hold on! Give me a second.” I had to go before getting caught, but I couldn’t yet. Mike gave me a smile and walked quickly away. “I’m sorry, but I have to be going. I will be back later. Promise.” and with a kiss on her cheek, I walked toward the door and ran out of the house.

“Let’s Go Rob!!” Mike yelled over the roar of the car. That gave away who the party crashers were, and the cops were coming toward us. I got into the car in record timing and we flew out of the east side of town. But I felt as though I left more of myself there on the dance floor. With her.

“Some party, right boys?” Mike looked away from the street, looking at all of us. They all hooted and hollered.

“You have no idea.” I ran my finger through my hair and smiled at the window looking out at the night sky.

“Well, we all know Robert here had a good time. Didn’t you Bobby.” Mike shoved my head, nearly missing the window.

“What are you talking about? It was just a party.” I fixed my hair, pulling off the mask I forgot I was wearing.

“Come on Bobby. You danced with the girl of the hour. How will parents react to that? Hope you don’t fall too hard this time. You will be thrown out of the house without money.” Mike laughed while sarcasm was thick in his voice.

“Girl of the hour? What in God’s name are you talking about? She was the birthday girl, why would I be kicked out?” had he been drinking again? In that case, why is he driving?
