NANI POV
I need to escape- I will not get out alive if he see's me. I crouch down a bit and try to get past him to the exit, but of course like in all of the movies, he caught me.
"Nani? Oh my god! It's been forever since I last saw you!" Carlos- my ex boyfriend- runs over to me and hugs me.
I wanted to avoid this situation because we were good together- he was my first boyfriend and I don't regret dating him.
"Hey, I didn't know you went here." I say awkwardly.
"Yeah, I'm a sophomore now!" He seems so happy. "Let's talk out side." I agree because we're basically yelling at eachother.
"Hey, how's college?" I ask him- I haven't seen him since middle school- he looks the same- but also, damn he got hot.
"It's great but... have you been crying? Your makeup is smeared." He looks so concerned for me.
"Ah, no it's probably from drunk girls throwing their drinks around." I'm trying to seem legit.
"Oh, okay. So, you with anyone?"
Oh yeah I came with my friends, I actually live with all three of them, I think its going to be great!" I say excitedly.
"Cool, but, i meant... are you dating anyone." He comes a but closer to my face.
"Oh, yeah, I am. What about you?" I smile.
"Not at the moment. I hoped I wouldn't be single for long but it might take longer than I thought." He says as he stands up straight again.
"Why, is she a really busy person?" I say, we could be friends. I could get him his girl!
"You could say that." He smiles and opens the gate to re-enter the party.
"Hey come with me!" I pull him by his wrist.
I run around with him like that until I find my friends huddled together on the outdoor furniture. They look at me with hope until they look behind me.
"Yo- tall handsome guy- who are you?" Aryn yells out. He seriously has no filter!
"I'm Carlos, I used to date Nani." He smiles.
"Yeah, he's a sophomore so maybe he could help us out this year." They all look at me then at Carlos and nod in agreement.
I argue with my friends about socializing until Carlos finally convinces them to go dance with him. They must feel safe because he's an upperclassmen or something.
I just glad the night is going well. Carlos introduces us to his group of friends and we hang out for a bit until Aryn falls asleep on us.
We have to take her home so we say our goodbyes and start heading out the door. I'm the last to start leaving and Carlos grabs my arm to stop me.
He smiles at me, "See you around."
