Scenario #7: Danny

The summer air was hot and humid. You and your friend were sitting on your front porch, talking amongst yourselves while eating a bag of chips.

"So, what's with the "sold" sign across the street? Are you finally getting new neighbors?" Your best friend, Rebecca asked as she popped a chip into her mouth. You shrugged your shoulders and nodded your head.

"I guess so. That house has been on hold for months. I've been waiting to see who bought the house for a while so I guess you could say I'm pretty excited to meet the new neighbors." You replied as you stretched your legs out in front of you. As you were doing so, a large moving truck slowly backed up into the driveway across the street as a little red minivan followed. You and your friend watched in silence as the movers got out of the truck and began to unload and move things into the house. Suddenly, your attention on the movers was completely broken when you saw the neighbors get out of their van as they started taking suitcases and boxes out of the car.

"Hey! Do you think we should go over and help them out? You know, maybe introduce ourselves?" You asked turning to Rebecca who had a huge smile on her face.

"Sure, why not?" She replied as the two of you stood up and walked across the street.

"Hi! You must be the new neighbors! I'm Ashley and this is my friend Rebecca!" You introduced yourselves with a smile as you approached a boy who looked to be about your age with black hair and chocolate brown eyes and perfect tan skin. He had a cute, pearly white smile across his face and he was holding a box in his arms.

"Hey! It's nice to meet you," he replied as he set the box down next to him while he extended a hand out to you to shake hands. "Name's Danny!" He exclaimed, with his adorable smile.

"It's nice to meet you too, Danny! You need any help unpacking or anything?" You offered with a polite smile.

"Nah, that's ok... But maybe I could take you out for a bite to eat?" He asked as the corner of his lips curled into a sly smirk. He was totally flirting with you! Not that you were complaining, you actually kind of liked it...

"Sure... Sounds good to me!" You exclaimed as he took your hand while the two of you began walking to the local sandwich deli down the street.

"So tell me about yourself, Ashley." Danny said, as soon as you two had arrived at the deli and sat down at a table.

"I'm really into music! I would love how to play the guitar but unfortunately, I have no money to buy myself one and I don't think I would ever find the money to pay someone to teach me how to play either. And I- I really like acting too. I got the leading roll in my schools play last year and it was amazing," You replied, looking down at the table, leaving an awkward silence between the two of you. Eventually, you looked back up and asked him the same question. "So, what about you? What do you like to do in your free time?" You asked. He smiled in response and opened his mouth to speak but was cut off when he saw his best friends walk into the deli.

"Hey! Danny! I had no idea you had a girlfriend! Who's this lovely lady?!" Said a boy with short, light brown hair and hazel eyes. He sat down next to you and put an arm around your shoulder while Danny sat and looked at him and his other three friends gathered around the table and chuckled under their breath.

"Um... I was sorta in the middle of something, Donnie." Danny replied, making a slight gesture for them to leave.

"Ahhhh, I see, ya need a little privacy, gotcha. Well, I'll leave you to it." Donnie said laughing loudly as he and the others followed him out of the deli.

"Uh, I'm so sorry Ashely, those were my friends... They tend to come at the wrong times," Danny laughed, blushing slightly. "We're in a band together. New Kids on the Block." He added, blushing harder. You smiled widely and leaned over the table, grabbing the collar of Danny's shirt, pulling him closer to you, planting a kiss on his lips. You looked at each other for a while until Danny spoke up.

"Wh- what was that for?" He asked, now blushing a deep red color.

"Because you're cute." You replied with a small smile, also blushing lightly.

"Y- you think I'm cute? You don't think I'm a total nerd?"

"Not at all." You responded, still smiling as you gathered your things, threw away your trash and walked side by side with Danny all the way back home.
