You felt Ciel's sky blue eye pierce you, your (E/C) eyes darting from his as you tried to pull yourself out of the uncomfortable situation. However, you pulled yourself into it by spiking his curiosity even more with your nervous reactions.
"So, do you have any input, Miss [L/N]?" Ciel asked. Apparently he'd caught onto the fact that you were the one behind it all. Evelyn raised an eyebrow at her sister, Valorette, as if they were talking telepathically.
"Oh, I haven't got much input. I'm just a simple maid," You folded your arms across your chest and straightening your back. Ciel stared at you, not saying much on the matter. Claude poured some tea into a small cup, serving his master first and working his way around the table. Ciel picked up his tea cup sipping on it as eye peered down at the gold rim of it. He set it down after her took a sip and looked over everyone in the room quickly.
"Very well then," Ciel glanced over at Sebastian, "We best be going. I've been quite busy lately." He lifted himself out of his chair, leaving the tea sitting on the table. You could tell it was a lie, he had been far from busy and the best he could hope to do with the rest of his day was review over the clues they had concluded about the murders. You could detect a lie from a mile away. This was your skill, you had a skill for reading people and you could tell that Ciel was as fake as a porcelain doll. His words were drenched in lies and even his smiles carried daggers though you couldn't say much about faking smile as you had done this countless times yourself.
Ciel lead his butler towards the door, waving his hand as a gesture of farewell before exiting. You suspected that he left because he had a low tolerance for the Trancy boy. You hadn't yet formed an opinion on him, so far you two had very little interaction, but Ciel's opinion of him was beyond obvious.
"I heard of these murders before I received the letter. It was in the newspaper for the last few weeks . It's just a hunch, but I believe the murderer must have be handy with knives. In one of the articles. I read it said that the murderer first throws a dagger at the victim, to throw them off guard and then sneakily attacks them from another direction. After this, he or she carries on with torturing them. That is, if they get the chance to do so. Based on the dagger portion of the story, I have theorized that the murderer must work with knives. Perhaps he or she is a butcher or a chef, " Valorette piped up.
Alois was silent for a moment, swallowing the sweet tea, "That's rather far fetched. I highly doubt our murderer is a simple butcher or chef and you can hardly tell such a thing by their experience with knives."
With that, he turned to Claude and clapped his hands together. Claude handed him a knife in which he chucked across the room with ease. The sound of the knife hitting something made you jump slightly and you looked at a painting that was hanging up on the wall. The knife had pierced it directly. It was a picture of a simple red apple on a table with a plain, black background. Alois had thrown the knife directly at the apple without a problem. This was more than likely to prove his point that Valorette's theory wasn't a good one.
"Anyways, I'm getting rather tired with this conversation. I think I'll be returning to my study now." Alois chugged down a bit of the tea before leaving it on the table. Claude took both of the cups, and left the room to dispose of them.
"Uh, but Mr. Trancy.... Are you sure you don't want to act upon this now? The longer we wait the more people will be slaughtered," Evelyn was quick to stand. Alois turned to her, his face showing his boredom.
Alois shrugged, but it was interrupted by a rough banging noise. You looked towards the kitchen, expecting it to be Claude, but it had actually came from the door.
Alois jumped at the sound, "Claude, what in the bloody hell are you doing!?" he screeched. There was no answer. Alois stormed out of the room and you all stood in wonder. It was a couple minutes before you and your mistresses figured out that Alois wasn't coming back. Valorette, being the impatient girl she was, stomped out of the room. Outside the room, Alois was yelling a series of commands to Claude.
"How am I going to sleep knowing there's a murderer watching me? Take care of this Claude." Alois ordered him.
Claude bowed, "Yes, master." he said before running out the door.
Evelyn stared at the boy, expecting him to explain the incident, "What happened, Mr. Trancy?"
"It's nothing to be concerned about." he said in a cheery voice, a smile appearing on his face.
"Rather rude of you. Keeping secrets," you blurted out. You hadn't exactly meant to say it aloud, but it needed to be said. You immediately receive a scowl from Valorette. You weren't supposed to voice your opinion and the insulting manner you put it in didn't help the issue.
His smile faded slightly, "I didn't mean to keep anything from you. I just didn't think the matter concerned you. My sincerest apologizes," he bowed his head, putting on the act he pulled on when certain guests were around.
Valorette returned the smile, "No need to apologize. My maid is being more troublesome than usual."
"No, she's fine, she's no where near as horrid as my maid," he said, referring to Hannah.
Valorette nodded, "Do you mind if we take a quick look around? Your manor is very beautiful." She stared back at the vase that you'd been looking at earlier.
"Help yourself. Hannah is around if you need anything and Claude should be back soon." Alois nodded his head with a smile. You had to admit he had a rather charming smile. Evelyn and Valorette started down a hallway, praising every tile they stepped on.
"Do you care to tell me what happened? I'm afraid you're keeping something important from us," you said once the twin mistresses had left. Alois smirked at you.
"What a bratty maid. Always asking so many questions," Alois walked toward you until there was only inches between you, "Haven't your mistresses taught you any better?" He lifted your chin up a bit until you were face to face. His blue eyes betrayed the suspicious intents as he stared into yours. His cold breath feathered your face causing shivers to run down your spine. His blonde locks seemed to lightly tickle your cheeks due to your closeness.
"If you were mine I'd punish you. The severest punishment of them all," Alois told you in a quiet, menacing tone.
You glared at him, "What are you keeping from us, Trancy?" You said, a slight demand in your tone.
Alois ignored the question, "You're rather pretty." His smirk deepened until it looked down right devious. You pulled away from him, quickly. No secret was worth having to deal with him. Your fists balled up and you scowled at him. He shook his head at you, he would get you back for that later, but for now he would retire to his study. He passed you, bumping your shoulder and heading up the stairs. You stumbled a little, but regained balance within a few moments.
You set out to find your young mistresses. It would certainly be a task to find them in such a giant manor. You hurried down a hallway, trying to remember which turn they took and eventually you found them worshiping a painting that was hung on the wall. Valorette spun around to you and studied the glare that was still present in your eyes.
"[Y/N], I think I'd like to spend the night here. It's lovely, the architecture is simply stunning. It's also closer to the crime scene. I'll have to ask Alois if we could stay. I'm sure he'd agree to it," Valorette said a grin plastered to her face, almost like she knew your dislike for Alois, "Actually we might be staying her for awhile, if he does agree that is."
