nagisa shouts once more in his pillow, cheeks red in embarrassment as he remembered the happenings of last week.
he didn't mean to cry, but the soothing pats and the warm hug karma gave him was enough to bring him to tears, it was comforting, somehow, it told nagisa: i'm here with every pat karma gave him.
he grabs his phone as it vibrated, eyes darting towards the sender. he felt his heart beat-faster than usual. nagisa takes a deep breath. i'm just embarrassed. i'm fine.
he opens the message, almost jumping in his seat.
from: karma akabane
to: you
re: recollectionwe're going to the mountain this weekend, wanna come?
with shaky hands, nagisa managed to type a reply.
sure. aren't you busy? with the whole teaching thing and reviewing for your given course.
nope. i breezed through with those stuffs. who do you think i am, na-gi-sa?
nagisa lets out a laugh and a snort. typical karma.

nagisa missed the gang-that was an understatement. they had met up on the base of the mountain, hugs and greetings exchanged before they all turned to look at each other-all smiles and all - before they raced towards the top.
"haven't had that kind of workout for awhile," meg says, smiling as he tosses a bottle to nagisa. "how's the mark?"
nagisa wiped the excess of his mouth. "vague," he replies, shrugging. "but what will come will come."
"how's the classes?"
"hard," nagisa replies. "and you guys wouldn't believe this, karma's teaching the class math."
"what? karma teaching? isn't his dream supposed to be a beaurocrat or something?" yoshida says, grabbing some snacks out of his bag.
"maybe he changed his course, too hard for him to handle." terasaka teases, snickering at karma-who was helping with the barbeque.
"terasaka, i can clearly hear you." karma hums, before he turns to the group-smirking. "just who do you think i am?"
rio laughs and rolls his eyes. "we know mr. genius."
and the rest of the night went with them laughing, loudly-too loud in fact but nobody cared. it was their mountain and they could do whatever they pleased.
as soon as everybody had enough catching up, they had started scattering, promising to meet again next month. nagisa and karma-having their apartments in the same neighborhood walked together in silence-as they should.
"it's kind of unbelievable."
"what is?"
"this," karma says, hands on his pockets. "me, having fun with the class."
"mm," nagisa agrees with him with a nod of his head. "you would rather beat them up and tease than actually talk, karma?"
karma rolls his eyes, but laughs nonetheless. he places both his arms on the back of his head-eyes darting to the sky that was watching both of them, twinkling in delight.
as they were about to round the corner, a girl had stopped them on the way, her hair gracefully falling to the sides as she bowed in front of them.
"you're karma akabane, aren't you?"
"i knew i was famous," karma whispers smugly. "but i didn't know i was this famous."
"i'm shino sato," she added, still bowing her head. "i know you may not know me but-"
"here we go." karma mutters amused, the mischief still undistinguished in his eyes.
"i'm your soulmate!"
nagisa felt a pang on his heart then.
