Ella awoke in a strange room, on a rusty old bed. She rubbed her eyes and got up from the bed to look outside the window. She saw that everything was very dark and looked almost sad. She looked around and saw different gadgets and inventions, she saw a bottle with fireflies in it hanging from a hook on the wall. "Who made this stuff?" Ella questioned while picking up one of the gadgets on the desk. "I did."Ella turned around to see a tall old aged man in a white lab coat, orange and black dress pants and goggles on his face and curly white hair. "Who are you?" Ella asked. "Why I'm an inventor." He replied. The man walked over to the desk and took out a screwdriver from a toolbox. He turned to the girl. "My names Samuel Smith. Call me Mr. Smith." He shook hands with Ella. "My name's Eleanor Star, but you can call me Ella. "Well it's nice to meet you Ella." Mr Smith said as he began to work on a gadget that looked much like a robot. "Do you mind if I ask you where I am"? "You're in BrumeVille Ella. Ella picked up one of the gadgets and looked at it curiously. "BrumeVille?" She inquired. "Yes Ella, you're in the place where time for the living ends." Ella set down the mechanism down and looked around her frantically. "You mean.." Mr. Smith stood up looking stern. "You're in the after life. Where the dead have departed from the living." Ella took a few steps back. "I can't be.. I'm still alive!" She exclaimed. "But that's impossible.." Mr Smith started. He walked outside on the balcony and stopped to look at the moon, the moon was the only thing bright in this grim world. Ella followed him onto the balcony. "Please let me go home"! She begged. "I don't know how to get you home, but I have a friend who might be able to help you". He answered. Mr. Smith took a train ticket out of his pocket along with an needle, and gave it to Ella. "What's this for"? She wondered. "It's a train ticket, the Hollow Train leaves in about 5 minutes it's very fast and it will take you to my friend in ManorHeight hills." Well who's this friend"? Ella asked. But Mr Smith didn't answer her and instead guided her to the train stop. "Good luck!" he said as the Train stopped for her to get on. Ella hopped on the train, gave the conductor her ticket even though he didn't say anything and waved goodbye to Mr. Smith.

As soon as she got on the train it started to move. The speed was as fast as a roller coaster and she struggled to find a seat to sit in as every seat was filled with brain-dead zombie like people who didn't say a word or move. Ella found an empty seat on the right side at the end of the train, and sat down. Across her in the other seat was a boy with his dog. The boy was very pale and had an eyepatch over is left eye, he wore a paddy cap and a white dress shirt with black pants rolled up at the end and brown boots he also seemed to be the only person on the train that wasn't brainwashed. "Hello. Are you going to ManorHeight hills to?" She asked the boy. "No, I'm just going for the ride." Replied the boy, he had an Irish accent. His dog was a Rottweiler, Ella knew Rottweilers could be somewhat aggressive but his dog seemed obedient. "What's your name"? Ella questioned. The boy turned to look at her and said: "my name is Henry and this here is Patches." Ella stood up to look at where they were, she saw that ahead of them the train tracks had been split off and there was a huge gap in between. "Wait! We're going to fall!" She yelled at the conductor. "It'll be alright, your dead anyway, right?" Henry stated. Ella tried to open one of the windows, but it was tightly shut. "No! I'm not dead! She proclaimed. "Really? You shouldn't be here!" The boy hollered as she tried desperately to find a way out while the fleeting train was completely no closer to the gaping whole in the middle of the tracks. Ella turned her head up to the ceiling of the train and saw a trapdoor to the roof, though the door was locked. "The needle!" Ella figured. She took the needle Mr. Smith had given her and unlocked the trapdoor. "Come with me!" She said to Henry. "Oh I'll be okay, I can't die if I'm already dead." Henry told her. "Don't you want to do something other than stay on this old train?" Ella asked. The boy seemed to think about it for a second and answered her. "I guess so." Ella hauled herself onto the top of the train and helped the Henry and Patches up. The train almost looked as if it almost jumped over the hole and to the other side. The impact of the train as it landed hurled Ella, Harry and Patches off of the train and on to the ground. As the Hollow Train slid backwards it made long eerie groaning sound before falling into the hole. "Look The Train!" Ella said. "How are you going to get to ManorHeight hills?" Henry asked. "I don't know.." Ella said peering into the wide open hole. "How far away are we from ManorHeight hills?" She requested, hoping Henry knew. "I think we're pretty far away but if we got a vehicle of some sort, we might be able to travel there faster." Ella walked over to Henry. "Let's go find a vehicle then." Ella said as they began to walk alongside the train tracks hoping it would lead them to something or someone with a automobile they could use.
