"What happened?" Kaylee's mom asked with a worried look on her face, she took the baby from her daughter who was frozen looking at nothing it seemed as if she died inside.

"Kaylee!" her mom snapped her eyes still not moving. She collapsed onto the floor, her mother frantically tried to wake her, she then opened her eyes with a confused look over her face.

"What happened?" she said sitting back up slowly.

"I don't know, you tell me." Her mom replied.

"There was a man..." she said recalling the events.

"A man?!" her mom asked.

"Yes, he was tall and bony." kaylee said.

"What did he look like?" her mother asked holding the baby tightly.

"I didn't see..." she said quietly.

"How didn't you see Kaylee?"

"I JUST DIDN'T HE, IT WAS IN THE WOODS mom..." Kaylee said frantically.

"Just don't go in the woods or near them again" her mom said helping up Kaylee.

Kaylee didn't respond, she just got up and when to her room to try to understand what had happened, what was lurking in the shadows just out of sight.

Later

The night draped over the house like a blanket, And the thought of the man in the woods had left Kaylee's mind into a deeper lockbox to be hidden away.

"Mom, what's for dinner?"

"I'm going to get burgers in a second, you can stay here and watch Ash."

"Mom..."

"Just stay inside and you'll be fine." Her mom say trying to calm her, but she didn't understand or remember at first.

"ok?" she asked and answered at the same time.

"ok" her mom said leaving.

The baby cried for it's dinner from his darkened room, the same room that the first baby had owned before Ashton did, the baby that had been taken, the baby with crys that could still be heard in the dead of night, echoing and piercing through silence to be heard again haunting those woods. From the woods the thing watched the new baby with it's cold dark eyes.

"Hold on Ashton." Kaylee called as she warmed a microwave meal.

Kaylee walked into the dark hallway only seeing what the last minutes of sun provided, the hallway only led to the nursery as it was the only room on the hallway. She opened

Ash's room and flicked on the lights to the hallway and his room on the side of the door, then she walked into the room, and she felt the dread of being watched, and followed, she looked around but saw nothing. Ash jumped up and down until she approached him. Kaylee lifted him up.

"Hey kid..." Kaylee said holding him.

She turned around and faced the window and looked out, the woods seemed to look back and stare at her, until a slight movement caught her attention.
