Nikki's P.O.V.
(Warning: very long chapter, but it was all worth it.)
Everything had went by in a flash. Since the death of Akito and my father, life has gotten more better for everyone. Everyone especially Kyo and I. He completed high school before me, but that never changed our relationship. Normally, for the days I was in school, to kill time, he would go to his Masters' dojo for awhile then return back to pick me up at school. But the most amazing thing Kyo has ever done to me was a few years after I graduated high school, he proposed to me.

It was a beautiful, sunny day in mid May. It felt like a perfect day to take a stroll through the park or even just relax in the sunlight. The birds chirped gracefully throughout the forest and colorful flowers scattered around every corner. It was perfect.
The day began out like any other day for Kyo and I; us waking up and giving each other our daily morning kiss. I always had a feeling that everyday that passed by, our love would get stronger, and it did.
"Hey, Nikki," Kyo greeted as we walk down the stairs heading into the kitchen. "I was wondering if you and I can take a walk in the forest today; its a great day to be outside."
"Of course," I answered cheerfully. Even though Kyo and I were now in our 20s, that never stopped us to behave like we were in high school. Kyo was still bashful most of the time and for me, well you can say I will forever be that clumsy little girl.
Kyo took my hand and kissed it, making me blush. "Okay, lets head out after breakfast." I nodded, then we continued heading down the staircase, making our way into the kitchen.
After breakfast, I told everyone that we would be taking a walk. They all replied with a simple 'okay' unless your name was Shigure and you kept guessing what we were actually doing. Kyo backed me up like he always did when we were younger by hitting Shigure. As he winced in pain, that got us enough time to walk out the door.
"So, where are we actually going?" I asked as we calmly walked through the forest, both holding each others hand. Kyo stopped and glanced over at me, smiling.
"You'll see," he states. "its a surprise." Those words brought back so many memories, each one playing in my head. I felt like I was in paradise, remembering all of the amazing things Kyo and I did together. It didn't have to be bad or good, sorrowful or happiness, everything made a memory that was yet to be stored in my heart.
Finally, Kyo stops right in the middle of an opening in the forest. The sun shined its rays throughout the opening, making all of the dark corners filled with a ray of sunshine. He stood in front of me, smiling as happy as ever. He finally took a deep breath, then faced me before he spoke.
"Nikki, the second I met you, I never really hated you, I actually had feelings for you, but I was scared to tell you and I thought it was a foolish thought, but I was wrong. All the things we did together make unforgettable memories. It made me so happy and I think it did the same to you. You've always lit up my day, even during the toughest times between us," Kyo then grabbed something out of his pocket. I couldn't tell what it was because he cupped it inside hands. "Nikki, would you make me the happiest cat on Earth and marry me?"
A slight gasp escaped my mouth as he bent down onto one knee, opening the box that contained a ring in it. The ring dazzled and gleamed in the sunlight as each ray touched the surface of the diamond. It was the most beautiful diamond I've ever seen and...this moment couldn't make me any happier than this.
