Briar came to a stop at the pool, panting. Nagisa came running a millisecond after her.
"Ha! I.... win!" Briar panted taking big gulps of air and inserting it into her lungs.
"Oh, hey Briar!" Briar heard Gou yell from the other side of the pool. she ran over to join them. Briar scowled a bit playfully.
"Now, Gou. Didn't anybody ever tell you not to run by the water's edge?"
"Yes, actually. Rin did." Gou said lifting her chin. "So how did Nagisa convince you? We knew he would which is why we sent him."
"Are you implying something?" Briar said looking at Gou closely.
"No, simply that Nagisa practically begged to go get you-"
"I DID NOT!"
"and so we just had to let him go." Gou said finishing with a smirk.
Briar gave her a sneer. "Go burn in hell." she hissed playfully
"Awww Bri dont be that way!" Nagisa said. "Even Gou doesn't deserve that!"
"She deserves satin himself Nagi," Briar said. Now this is what Briar always was like. Playful, funny, sense of humor... she'd probably go back to her new self tomorrow anyway.
Briar ignored Gou's obvious fangirling about Nagisa having a nickname from Briar, and turned to Nagisa.
"So what did you want to show me?"
"Do you see beauty in such little things?" he asked. Wow. That seems so out of character for Nagisa.
"I mean, sure. I had a fortune cookie that said that once." Briar said, shrugging. (I'm being legit)
"Have you seen the pool yet?"
"Umm... No- NAGI!" Briar said, yelping as Nagisa covered her eyes with his hands. "Nagisa, what are y-"
Briar stopped talking as Nagisa removed his hands and Briar marveled at the site in front of her.
The pool. It was absolutley gorgeous! Probably freezing cold, but gorgeous! It's surface was shimmering as the sun's rays hit the water, and scarlet, pink, and redish pink petals fell from the tree above the pool. Briar couldn't quite remember the name of them though.
Nagisa, seeming to have noticed Briar's face scrunched up at the tree as she was trying to remember what it was called, he said "Those are my favorite type of trees. They're Called Cherry Blossoms." (*screams in ur ear* TITLE DROP!!)
Nagisa picked up a petal that was pink and placed it in the middle of Briar's head.
"hmmm...." Nagisa said surveying her. "pink is ok, but green is better!"
"Actually my favorite color is green Briar said, tucking the flower petal behind her ear where her thick hair would keep it from falling out.
"Cool! Mine's yellow because it reminds me of RockHopper Penguins~"
Judging by the way Nagisa talked about penguins, they must've been his favorite animal.
"Anyway, the pool is truly beautiful." Briar said looking back at it.
"I knew you would like it!" Nagisa shouted, punching the air with his fist ((DIE AIR!!!))
"Thank you, Nagi" Briar said, smiling an actual genuine smile, which she hasn't done for quite some time,"

Briar looked out her window to see the ocean's waves rolling against the shore. She absolutley loved the sunset. But she loved the moon rise even more.
Despite the sunset being the most romantic of settings, and said to be the most beautiful, Briar disagreed strongly. People just took the moon for granted. Without the moon, what would light up the sky? What would capture Earth's pure beauty without the moon? Anyway, when Briar was little she had found a cliff, and it didn't face the way the sun was setting. Instead it faced where the moon was rising. This is how Briar witnessed her first moon rise.
She was captivated by the blue-ish white-ish light coming from the moon, and how it would change during the months. She would sometimes make out faces on the moon when she was younger, and tried to learn everything she could about the constellations.
She gazed at them, thinking about her first day at school. It had been much better than she anticipated. She had made friends. Briar thought about Gou, and how nice and funny she was, and Haru, who noticed things others didn't. And then there's Makoto, whose always so kind and welcoming. And then there was Nagisa. She didn't know how to feel towards him. He was so kind, and full of energy constantly.
She couldn't help but think that she liked him. There was something she couldn't explain about him that just made her... want to know him more. Briar was naturally a little flirty with boys while Rose was still alive. It was hilarious to see their reactions. Rose would tease Briar about it constantly.
But with Nagisa, it felt different. She couldn't explain how, it just... did.
Briar shook her head to clear her thoughts.
'I can't get to attached.' Briar thought. 'because if i do, i'll tell them everything, and then they'll leave.'
Briar sighed and looked at the couch. She gave into the sudden impulse to lie face foward onto the couch and just lay there, thinking about life. She laid there for quite a while. She didn't feel like going to sleep, so she got out her phone. The case was simply black with a green heart in the middle, which represented her soul. Green meant kindness, and Briar had usually considered herself nice.
Briar didn't know what to feel at the moment. Right now she just... existed.
Briar couldn't get her mind off her new friends. She couldn't help but think that they had all replaced Rose. Briar shook her head again. Briar got her laptop and began to turn on some music. She needed calming music, so she looked up 'Home Undertale 1 hour' (srsly look that up) and began to draw. She drew herself smiling and laughing with her new friends. She drew cats, so she imagined every one of them as cats. She smiled slightly to herself while drawing Nagisa. She was finishing the last details when her eyes finally began to droop.
Briar put up her sketchbook, but kept the music on. This would be her lullaby for tonight.
Little did she know, someone was watching from her window.
