"C'mon sweet heart! First day of college! Aren't you excited?" My mom calls from downstairs. The kitchen, most likely. "Mmmmyeaah mom coming." I mumble half asleep. I forgot today was the day. Today was the day I've been looking forward to for the longest time. I got up from my comfortable queen bed and walked into the bathroom in my room. To be honest, my family was pretty rich. We never really have struggled with anything, economy wise. Therefore, all the bedrooms had their bathrooms and stuff. It was pretty cool. On the other hand, we have struggled with other issues. Especially our neighbors. Lord do they irritate me. Especially that Calum guy. He's my age. Shit! He's probably going to my college. "Please no!" I mutter under my breath. I step into the shower and let the warm water run down my body. I shave the small stubble that had appeared over the weekend. I walk out & dry my hair. "Katherine c'mon! College starts in 45 minutes! Do you want Calum to drive yo-" "NO! And stop calling me Katherine! I told you it's Katie!" "Alright! Well hurry!" "Okay mom I'm already under enough pressure!" I ignore my mother as she continues making her breakfast. I walk back into my bathroom & plug in my curling iron. I curl my hair & pin it to my right side with a bobby pin. "Looks nice K." I say to myself, proudly. I walk in front of my closet, already knowing what I was going to wear. I pull out a pretty pink dress, a jean jacket, and some pink converse. I put everything on & spray a hint of perfume I had gotten from Victoria's Secret last weekend. I applied a bit of mascara also. I grabbed my bag & checked myself in the mirror one more time. I grabbed my phone from my bedside table & headed downstairs where I was met with the person I hated seeing. Calum Hood. "Um mom?!" "Oh hey sweetie. Calum offered to drive you to college. He's going to Baker too isn't that amazing!" I stare at my mom & give her the look I've been giving her for years. The "why-do-you-hate-me" look. "So uh, Katherine-" Calum began. "It's Katie." I snapped. "Katie, should we go?" "Mom can't you just take me." "Katie just go with Calum. He won't bite. Right Calum?" "Yep! C'mon Katie. We're gonna be late." "Ugh. Fine. Bye mom." "Have fun at your first day sweetie! Bye!" I roll my eyes as I walk out the door & shut it behind me. My mom knows I don't like Calum. He's a selfish prick who goes around fucking anything he can find. I seriously hope he doesn't try talking to me right now. This car ride is about to be so awkward..
