Chapter 5.

  -Jace's POV-

After Raphael disappeared, Magnus opened a Portal so we could make our way to Australia. We went through the portal and appeared in Sydney Australia, Clary sat on the ground and put her head between her knees, she was gasping for breath.
"Alright Clary," Alec said, "We aren't moving until you tell us what's going on with you."
"No, I'm fine," she gasped.
"Clary," I said, kneeling next to her, "No you aren't."
"Jace I'm fine," she said again.
"Clary please," I begged.
"Fine," she shouted, "I'm pregnant. Happy now, I told you!"
Everyone gasped at the same time, I think I'm going into shock, I could hear people talking but couldn't process what they were saying. I could hear people calling my name but I didn't say anything.
"Clary you can't be here," Magnus said, "You need to be back in New York, resting. And someone needs to be taking care of you."
"Magnus is right," I finally said.
"Jace no, I'm fine. I need to be in this mission, please," she begged.
"Clary," Magnus said, "Isabelle, Jace, and Alec, will be fine."
"Wait, Magnus no," Alec said, "You can't, no."
"Alexander, she needs someone to look over her. And you need Jace for this mission."
"Magnus please," Alec said. It seems as though a lot of begging is happening today, "Magnus, please stay with me," he whimpered, I had never seen him so vulnerable before. I knew he was different around Magnus, but he never let it show in front of us. I knew because I am the same way with Clary.
Magnus walked over to him and took Alec's face in his hands. He kissed Alec for a few seconds before he pulled away, Alec was crying. "Alexander, don't cry. I love you," Magnus whispered, "I promise I'll be waiting for you at home."
"Alec it's for the best," Izzy said.
Alec didn't even try to wipe his tears away, he just nodded once and said,"I love you too," and he turned away so no one could see his face.
Magnus opened a Portal and took a screaming, sobbing, Clary with him. When they were gone I stayed on the ground and Izzy walked over to Alec. She placed a hand on his shoulder and said, "Alec, I'm sorry."
All he said in return was, "We need to get going so we can get this finished. We all have things to tend to at home."
Alec started walking away, I thought I heard a whimper escape from him but I wasn't sure. I felt bad, I knew him and Magnus had gotten really close after everything that has happened recently. I really didn't know what to do, so I got up and started to follow Alec and Izzy.
