Chapter 28: The Truth

Kyo's Pov:

The next day, I kept looking at my ceiling, feeling not as great as I usually am. Not because Bts left to do their promotions, but because I remembered a secret that I didn't tell Bora. And now that its her birthday's today, we have tell them...

Bora's Pov:

I just woke up and when I did, I got a call from Namjoon.

'Hey Bora, happy birthday!' he said happily.

'Aww~ Thanks babe! I just wish I can give you a kiss right now...' I sighed.

'Hey its fine, you can always see me through the TV, like you used to. Besides, its not like I'm gonna be away from you forever.' he said, comforting me through the phone.

'Well, I better get going, talk to ya later!' he then hung up. I got up from bed and got dressed in a white T-shirt and shorts. I went into the kitchen and saw Kyo, fully clothed, watching TV while eating some cereal.

I went to get some leftovers and sat next to her.

"Hey unnie, wanna have your birthday party at the house?" Kyo asked.

"Sure, as long as all out friends are here, I don't care where we are!" I said excitedly.

"Great, now I'll be right back. I have to get supplies for your birthday party." and once she said that, she left the house.

- 1 hour later -

"I'm back!" Kyo yelled when she came in. She had so many bags, filled with party decor.

"Unnie, help me with decorating the place please?" she asked, taking out all the decor.

"Sure, its my bday after all..." I said sarcastically. So I took half of the decor and helped set the place up.

- 4 hours later -

The place was full of party decor, balloons, and streamers. Now all we needed was our friends. Kyo called SanHee, Vivi, And Jae while I called Rimmy and Kyu. Once we called everyone, Kyo went out again to get a cake. While she went out, SanHee, Rimmy, Kyu, and Vivi came.

"Hey birthday girl!!!" yelled Rimmy and SanHee excitedly. I looked around, and didn't see Jae.

"I guess she's just busy..." I thought to myself, sighing.

"We got you some gifts for you~" said Kyu.

"Sweet! Just place them on the coffe table." they then placed them all on the table. Once they did, they sat down on the couch. But then suddenly, Kyo came in with chips, a jug of Coke, and a box.

"The cake must be inside the box. I wonder what the flavor will be..." I thought to myself.

"I'm back! And with food too!" Kyo yelled. We all had a mini celebration when we heard food. So Kyo set up all the food, and that's when the party began.

We played board games, ate delicious food, and ate some amazing chocolate cake. After all that, I opened my presents I got from the others. SanHee got me a Bts album, Kyu got me a Got7 phone case, Rimmy got me some pocky, cookies n' creme flavored, and Vivi got me an ice cream key chain for my phone.

"Hey Kyo, where's your present for Bora?" asked SanHee.

"I don't have one. But that's because unnie and I have something to tell all you guys..." Kyo says. She then looks at me with nervousness in her eyes. And just from that, I now know what she was talking about. I then nod and she moves to sit right next to me, facing the others like I was.

Kyo's Pov:

Bora unnie and I looked at each other one more time and breathed in, starting to speak afterwards.

"Guys... there's something you should know about our parents.. something that we should have told you all along time ago but never did..." I say looking down at my hands with a worried expression.

"What is it?" they ask, looking at me and Bora with raised eyebrows.

"A long time ago, when I was a child... our mom... she died in a car crash... there was traffic and she was on her way to pick me up from kindergarten and there was an accident. A truck hit her car from the side." I explain.

"She died?..." I hear Vivis say in a suprised voice. I look at Bora and she nods, almost in tears.

"Yes..." she says.

"You should also know that... our father... he... after mom died.... he became an aggressive drunk and became very brutal towards her and I. He thought that it was Kyo's fault that mom died, all because she was coming to pick her up when the accident happened. I tried to protect her but... that just made both of us become a victim to his abuse. He was both verbally and physically abusive to us when he drank, and he drank heavily..." she says.

"What?.. Why?... Why now?!" Kyu yells in anger.

"Why tell us now after all these years?! Especially to me and SanHee who have been there for almost your entire life!" Kyu yells.

"We just... we just didn't want you two to worry..." she say.

"From the truth about your parents?! You should have told us all that! We're supposed to be there for you two when things are bad for god sakes!!" She yells.

"Kyu does have a point.. Like, we grew up not knowing what happened to them and now you two all of a sudden tell us this?.." SanHee asks, disappointed that we didn't tell them anything.

"We're so sorry SanHee and Kyu..." I apologize.

"Sorry my ass..." Kyu says before storming out of the house, slamming the door.

Bora's Pov:

"SanHee.. You forgive us right?" I ask, looking at her sincerely.

"To be honest, I don't know if I do..." SanHee says, getting up and leaving. I sighed, feeling really bad.

"Sorry you had to see all that Vivis and Rimmy... We just had to tell them" Kyo apologized.

"It's alright, we'll just leave you two alone then so that you can settle this out." Rimmy says, leaving the house with Vivis following her. I then see Kyo sigh as well, looking at me with sad eyes.

"What now unnie?.." she asked me.

"I don't know.." I say, going into my room in disappointment that it went badly.

I then started to break apart and cry into my pillow. I wanted to tell them that even before my birthday came, Kyo even agreed to it. I never would've thought that they would take it so badly... It was like Kyu stabbed my heart with a blade... But, I have to face it, we hid it from our friend and cousin that we think of as siblings... And now, we don't even kniw if they want us to be around them anymore...
